What's up again fellow growers! I hope everyone had a merry christmas. It's been almost a year since my last journal but I never stopped growing, just been real busy lately with work & family. Thanks to Amendment 64 I can finally grow legally without any worries! I was so excited I had to get started right away.
I bought some Dinachem seeds online, supposedly Dinafem's version of ChemDawg, and got some White Widow and Blue Widow UFO freebies also from Dinafem. The kushberry beans were from a friend I've grown it a few times in the past with great results.
I've been using Foxfarm soil for years but the guy at the hydro shop talked me into buying a bag of Roots Organics soil, a friend of mine uses it as well so I thought I would give it a try. Added some perlite and blood meal to the mix and I'm good to go. Also picked up a bottle of liquid guano from Home Depot.
As far as nutes I'm using Advanced Nutrients 4 part formula (Grow-Micro-Bloom-Bud Candy). I like to start the seeds under a 250w HPS and veg for exactly 1 week with 18/6, then I switch to 12/12 and move them to the tent with the 400w HPS. I transplant them into their final pots and start feeding at about 2 weeks.
The first to sprout was the kushberry on 11/18 but 3 plants was not enough I needed more The seeds arrived in the mail on the 20th, I germinated 2 white widow but only one of them decided to sprout. It's a very strange looking plant with short curly leaves and grows very slow, but I'm not giving up on her yet.
At this point I said what the hell and decided to pop 2 of the dinachems, they both sprouted on 12/09 for a total of 6 plants. I think I'm getting in over my head the most I've ever grown before was 3 at a time lol, but I'll never know if I don't try
KushBerry:
There's 3 plants in each pot, but they are all females and the pots are very large so I don't think I'll have any problems. Now that they are getting bigger I will rotate them weekly between each tent so they can get even lighting.
I tied the branches down with string to keep the canopy even. I topped them all at the 3rd node which will result in 4 main tops on each plant, 12 tops in each pot if all goes well. It will get pretty thick in there soon but I think it will be managable.
ChemDawg/White Widow:
The plant in the bottom of the pic is the white widow, it's 2 weeks older than the others but as you can see it's about the same height. No signs of preflowers yet on these 3 but it won't be much longer. I will tie the branches once they start stretching a bit more.
I'll try to update this journal frequently with new pictures every week, so stay tuned for bud porn Looking forward to any input or advice from other 250w/400w growers out there, let me know what you think!
