California gun sales soar, gun deaths plummet, "common sense" absent

"gained" and "allowed" aren't the same thing. You can't legislate "gained". cn
you sure can legislate "gained". can't put your handguns in a shoebox, tell your kid the shoebox is off limits, and then expect not to be held liable if your kid takes the guns and goes out shooting kindergarteners.

You obviously don't know the definition of "allowed".
and you clearly don't know the definition of "equal protection of the law".

the guns were not secured. the evidence is the nearly two dozen kindergarteners murdered execution style.

"Execution-style" is a phrase with a specific meaning. i just went a'Googlin' and could find no corroboration for this. I found dozens of news articles and their derivative blogs that stated that one or more of the victims were killed "execution style", but with no explanation of what the meant or evidence to back it up, e.g. bullet placement.

Can you show me a link detailing what qualifies these shootings by style? If not, are you willing to consider that you're propagating another unfair media newsbite because it sits well with your own sentiments? cn

i am more than willing to consider that, i haven't looked into the details at all. i just heard they were taken out execution style, i.e. bullet to the back of the head from short range.

I cannot find this anywhere online, just the unadorned phrase "execution style".
What I did find is a claim that the dead had three to eleven wounds each, which is quite inconsistent with "execution style" as you've correctly identified it. cn

yeah, i just went to wiki and brushed up. can't find anything about execution style, but it's no matter to me. i did see that connecticut's gun laws were a good deterrent to him getting a gun, so he just took his mom's unsecured guns.

hey cannabineer, care to tell me why any civilian would need one of these?

For hunting LOL, but seriously I do hunt with mine, state law you can't have more than 10 rd mags on you while hunting or you will loose you rifle and your license. These are used against Hog infestations as they allow multiple shots to be taken at a group of ferral hogs. It is pretty fun actually especially after the roast, Yum!!!

I dont eat squirrels because of that very reason ha ha, but rats and prarie dogs on the other hand:)
Over here we actually have a "kill list" of certain species that if armed and its safe to do so, you are legally obliged to send the fuckers to hell.

Foxes, grey squirrels, any other non indigenous species.

Fracking AWESOME.

Now with that said
I support the second amendment

Time to stop all this non sense about what is and what is not an assault rifle.
They shouldnt be banned, but on the other hand denying what they are is just making gun rights supporters look like nuts

A somewhat more serious answer to your question would be "to secure our Constitutional rights". Many rights and restrictions, e.g. those about horses in the city before the car took over, fade away through disuse. By buying the nastiest guns the Gov't in its infinite wisdom will allow us to buy, we create an interested constituency to oppose those who think we should just quietly go the way of the rest of the industrialized world.

But my most serious answer is: because we not only permit, we encourage the police to buy these. A basic plank of my political philosophy is the the police should never outgun the populace of civilians. If you don't want to disarm the police, then asking for the rest of us to not get those is not fair.

The police are here to solve crimes and confront criminals. The were and are not the keepers of the peace. We are. We should see through the pleas to "let the police handle it". That is a wholesale abdication of more rights than just to arms. Jmo. cn

We're way overpopulated with them, makes them go bat-shit crazy looking for food causing a lot of car accidents cos of the little fuckers.

Bear in mind we don't all drive big fucking huge trucks, so a Fox can seriously fuck your shit up at 60mph.

You can make them literally explode with hollow points tho.

I like multi-tools. I carry a Gerber all the time. The multi-tool in this pic can be used for hunting, self-defense, as an investment (guns don't lose their value), for pleasure shooting, AND for mounting a serious assault if one is needed.

If it was an AK tho, it'd also be a shovel, pickaxe, crowbar, bat, cheese grater...the list goes on.

ARs are sexy, but maybe build them out of masculine materials next time?

I was going to build an AK instead of an AR. The ballistics of the rounds (5.56 vs 7.62X39) made my choice rather easy. This is gonna be an expensive build.

Well, this is too high stakes to call for an outright ban of all gun sales except to "certain people." But, that is what they did in Australia. And they did it with just this kind of emotion tampering and fear mongering. And the grand experiment in Australia is showing mixed results.

They need emigrants like we do, and these emigrant were not raised to be so nice, sometimes.

If we triangulate the world left gun Agenda, what is being proposed as good examples of Societies, etc, we see that is exactly where the Agenda wants to go. No private guns. But we don't see mention much of the good guns do every day to save people from violence. That is Agenda.

No guns has been tried and failed in DC, for example. Less guns, more crime. A sad fact of our culture, is all. We are not raising kids correctly in the Nanny State. Plain and simple to me. It has nothing to do with guns, really. But, I see the slope we are on. And it leads to more crime, not less.
It's a carbon copy... Yanks saw it worked in AUS so let's try it on in the states.

Same AR-15 bullshit that the media are peddling to you guys now.

Our laws were already drafted, government was just waiting on the "perfect crisis" to galvanise support for their agenda.

The term, "assault weapon" was coined by the hoplophobes. Fuck 'em, they don't get to control the conversation.
