As always, your presumption of theft limits your argument. If I contribute to something that eventually gives something back, even if I am not completely happy with the arrangement, it is not theft. It is what is called a social compact. You need not give the U.S.government anything at all, if you feel so strongly about their "theft" then you are enabled, in this country to leave and pay no more.

If you can find a place where you get better value for the money that you "contribute" then I will be the first to ask you where that place is and I may well join you there.

Are you also counting the employer match portion. No, no, of course not. Yes, the employer match is mine as well and not my employer's. Total SS tax is 12.4% of wages.

I have no problem with HuffPo, I read them sometimes. Much of it is typical left-wing gibberish, but sometimes they make a little sense.

lol the individual mandate IS an example of socialism. Does it need to come with the label for you to see it?

Cap and trade was an idiotic republican idea designed to filter money where they chose under the guise of doing the right thing. Democrats of that era saw through the stupidity and damage a system like that would produce. Now it's their idea so it's a good one? Why?
