Ordered myself a late Christmas present... wanted to dab some oil but don't have a rig for it... so I got a cheap 12" bong with perc and glass on glass joints... and a matching concentrate bowl to dab oil out of... going to experiment with an extrapolation of the idea of using the herb-iron instead of a titanium nail... going to try using the ceramic element of my DaBuddah vaporizer as a heat wand, basically. It should work... the glass can pop off and you just have the element sticking up... as long as I'm careful not to break the sucker off, it should work to vaporize oil in the concentrate bowl.

I was going to just use the g-pen as my vape and go with that until harvest, but one of the cartridges I got (the only one that was a hybrid (sativa/indica mix)) has a failed heating element so there's a gram of pure CO2 extracted honey oil just sitting in there, laughing at me. So I bought the bong, and intend to dab the hell out of it as a special treat to myself. Now, when that comes in the mail, I just have to get into the fuckin cartridge... but that's a battle for another day...

Edit: There, LOL. My hard work is done for the day... hahahahaha.

CMH does interest me... definitely have considered going that way. I can't wait to get into a house where I can dedicate a full room ... I'll go nuts then...

Does anyone else have a problem where when they go to type "nuts" they can't help typing "nutes"? "You may be spending too much time on rollitup.org if..."

Hooray for late christmas self-gifting, hahaha.

My seeds are like... embedded in cardboard... I have to figure out how to free them without damage... I feel like I'd like to get those started and do a run of raspberry while the new clones grow into healthy mothers... then do the sog after... it might be a bit unrealistic and my mothers may be out of control by then, but I think I could rig up an extra room if necessary. Mmmm... seeds.

My jackberries look absurdly tasty. They plumped up earlier than anything else. And they have so much blue and purple toning, they're so dramatic looking. Other plants are starting to fill in too, but nothing looks quite as impressive as the jackberry so far.

I was thinking six rasp. coughs and leave the freebies for later. I do have some autos that are tempting though, I could grow those out alongside the six raspberry coughs and by the time they're crowded out by the growth of the six main plants they should be finishing.. hmm.... seems reasonable. Except i only have 5 5-gal bags, now that I think about it. Hmmm.

So I'll do 4 5 gal bags with raspberry coughs, give them a long veg and train them into the nets real well.
Then I'll also run two 3 gal bags with the two autos (auto sweet tooth and Northern Lights x AutoJack) and let those flower while the raspberry coughs creep up and steal all the real estate around them... that sounds reasonable. Gives me something extra to harvest while I'm waiting for the longer flowering time I'm probably up against with the rasp. cough...

Edit: Realized it's only a five pack of rasp cough, haha. So I'll do 4 and save one for the archives.

Cut a bunch of very small flowering clones, which are now in temp-controlled aero-cloner on a 20/4 cycle in the mother chamber. Going to get these to revert to veg and root, and hopefully narrow down the best candidates for keeping. I did them really small so it's kind of a gamble, they may not all survive.. but I cloned more than I need just in case. I didn't want to take anything real big, as it's already flowering and only the smallest shoots were still really thin-budded.

So those'll be doing their thing in there... meanwhile the flowering chamber is bulking up... can't wait to finish out this crop and see how well the side lighting helped out. I'll probably keep the current arrangement to try on the rasp. cough but will cosider an 8x4' footprint sog setup when I start doing sogs. The key would be to build some 30"x30" rollies so I could actually roll the first section right out the door to get at the other ones. But I'd RATHER think that my sidelighting is worthwhile so I don't have to go through the trouble... we'll see how things look as I finish the rasp. cough run and make a decision then...

Giggles like I said it's nothing special but here is a set of pics of what I'm doing for ventilation in a closet where I can't modify the interior of the closet:

Plywood door on a couple face hinges has a 15"x15" triangle cut off one corner:

A simple piece of trim cut at 45 degrees on the ends to the equivalent size to create a sealing edge along the angle-cut door:

In the background you can see what I did for air spreading... while I could actually exhaust out of the room, what I did here was I fed a duct up into a makeshift (cardboard and spraypaint) replacement panel in the ceiling... so the exhaust hose feeds into the ceiling, which helps to eliminate what little air-flow noise there is at that point.

While the air doesn't leave the room, what I did was slip a panel open on the opposite end of the room, so all the air has to pass through the space between the old ceiling and the suspended ceiling before it slips back into the room. Not only does this circulate the air effectively (as a bonus, you can actually open different panels depending on where you want air blowing) but it only gives the air more time and space to cool down a bit.

Combined with this muffler there is no wind noise at all, anywhere... just need to get the fan intself isolated now.

Also, as you can see, I have panda film over the corner... the plan was to replace that with the wood i cut away, but it doesn't fit quite right so I'll have to trim it up, or just screw it and leave the plastic. It would look, admittedly, much cleaner with the wood in place.

These are the air intakes... the curtain is stapled in the position you see here to keep the intakes clear... then a small piece of furniture is slid in front at an angle and hides the whole thing:
[*]

Screen stapled to the back of the door supports the foam pad filters that are on the front, which act effectively as a light blocker in both directions.

Oh, and then there's weather stripping that runs along all the seams, as you can see in a couple pictures.
That's about all there is to say about the ventilation system... it's working pretty effectively.

-

Mother chamber pics:

Air intake at the bottom... have since secured the screen better so it doesn't stick out like that:

[*]

I forgot to take a pic, but I wrapped the exhaust fan in the same black foam filter stuff and used an elastic to hold it on. As a result I have every light leak at least heavily filtered, if not blocked entirely. Hooray!

I'll get pics of the exhaust fan and the make-shift light fixture and diy'd reflector tomorrow...

edit..........for light leaks coming from the exhaust......run a 90 degree angle(sprayed flat black on the inside of the bend) on your ducting and NO light leaks...

Indeed... right now there is no ducting and no room for ducting unless I add it on the inside... perhaps I'll do that tho, I could run the duct across the ceiling halfway. (There's no room outside, the fan is in the top right corner and there is a walll too close to clear--luckily this hasn't effected ventilation so far, temps have been good with the two 48w CFLs I have in there now)

And, because it's up against the wall like that, it doesn't spill that much light even without the filter material over it... with the filter it's almost nothing. I might double up the layer on the intake. One layer is pretty effective but two is really good. I have two layers on the outer door's vents.

Overall not worried about it, but might still add a blacked out duct section on the inside of the cab for fun...or even use some flexi duct to run a tube from the edge of the light fixture...

Monster cropping should be an interesting experiment... since these sorts of cloners have such good reputations I went for the more challenging clone... I even put a submersible heater in to keep the water temps ideal for root development, so I'm hoping it will go well. I really took small clones, though. I'm optimistic, and don't need that many to survive. And I could use the extra time it will take for them to get big anyway. heh.

Haha... I'm attempting to reveal as little environment as possible while still showing you the pics, but you insist on pointing out what you can identify. ;) :tinfoilhat: I've accepted you know the wallpaper, LOL. hahaha.

Anyway yeah, they're looking good now, frosting up nicely. Big difference since the last viewing. Glad to see such development now.

I honestly don't mind trimming... I might try a cold water extraction for once, I have never done it that way. I've been dry sifting and occasionally doing ISO extractions, but I feel like I'd like to do butane or cold water extraction next time. I sort of want to learn to rip my own oil so that I can load my own portable oil-only vaporizers and enjoy dabs on a concentrate rig...

Your wallpaper isn't the only thing I've noticed lol. How about them slanted walls in the rooms and closets? haha. Ya well I guess that's just me. But ya you should make you some bubble hash man and get you a nail and omg take dabs all day long :D FUCKING awesome bro!

Also, the jackberry being ahead of the others makes sense, but the herijuana being behind doesn't.

Jackberry 7-8 Weeks
Kolossus 9-10 Weeks
Anesthesia 8-10 Weeks
Herijuana 7-9 Weeks
