Iif you want to give the shots to one.. you need to give to to ANYONE who goes to the hospital.. from the Nurses-Admins to the person who delivers to the hospital.. heck even to those who deliver to the delivery guys..

Pretty sure that the flu Virus does not stop at the front door of a hospital just because..

and they sure as heck seem to be pushing the panic of a massive flu season too..
if you get people scared enough they will do anything.

I don't understand why nobody is looking into why the flu is now killing people...It seems each year the flu gets scarier and scarier...so in trying to cure it are we producing more severe strains of the flu? Or is it more of mainstream media's fear tactics? Chicken or the egg...?

I am a big supporter of public health measures. People working in public health settings such as hospitals, and medical clinics, etc are on the front lines of infection for all kinds of stuff. They are essentially vectors because of their wide exposure to sick people. Because of this, I believe that every measure that has been shown to be effective and safe should be employed to stop infectious transmission before it starts and the obvious place to halt the infection train is at the depot, hospitals, medical clinics and doctor's offices. If you go to a hospital or clinic you should not be increasing your chances of getting sick with preventable illness.

To address some of the points raised: Egg allergy is no longer an excuse, there are now vaccines produced without eggs, the article I linked to mentions this. Public health officials do sometimes get their predictions wrong and immunize against the wrong strain of virus, in that case the whole population is at risk and it is a major fuck up but shit happens, and I don't see this objection as an excuse to forgo vaccination. Vaccines are not 100% effective, but, again I don't see this as a valid excuse. It is certainly true that some people will react badly to a vaccine, and some will die from it but far more will die from the flu or its secondary infections, so the best course is to get vaccinated.

The most puzzling thing to me is that a nurse would refuse vaccination. The greatest leap forward in public health, after simple hand washing, is vaccination.

So, I support the actions of the hospital in this case.

I have only gotten vaccinated for the flu one time...that was also the only year I ever have gotten the flu...hadn't had it before, haven't gotten it since. I get my kids the vaccines the law requires, but if they won't make me, I'm not going to get it. I think that vaccinations are now worse than a lot of the diseases they are supposed to protect us against I think. I mean the FDA says they are safe, but they are full of shit. You can't trust the government, and thusly anything they say is a lie as far as I am concerned. So if the govt tells me I need to do something, then I know that it is something I should not do.

Bit seriously and totally truthfully Only had the flu one year, and that was truly the one and only year I was vaccinated against it.

I am 6'2" and 212 and feel overweight. I would like to get back to 195 as I felt better then and had more energy. Not everyone can be an adonis like you, all full of nothing but rippling muscles from doing 1200 LB deadlifts and bench pressing 350 all day like yourself. 80 Pound single arm curls right?

I put on weight after I quit smoking cigarettes.

i felt like a twig at 210 . . . . . although at 225 i was kicking ass and taking names . . . . . .
I got out of the Marine Corps at 257, but I worked with free weights 5 days a week and ate 4 meals a day. Don't think I was at 13% bodyfat, prolly more like 15-18%.

Vaccines can have the side effect of death. So there's that. You probably support fluorodation of water despite it's clearly unethical leanings as well. Forced health care. Land of the free.

If you're old and/or have a major health issue, probably you should consider the shot. Otherwise there's little evidence to support it's use.

It covers a small number of flu viruses (of which there is a huge number).

I don't blame you for mistrusting the government. You have to evaluate stuff for yourself. Personally, I get the flu vaccine every year and I have not had the flu in years.

It is your choice whether to get the vaccine. However, if you work in a medical setting I completely support making your employment contingent on getting the vaccine. As an infrequent consumer of medical services, I want to be sure that when I do go to a doctor I am not being needlessly exposed to communicable diseases. Don't take the vaccine, lose your job.

As soon as I lost my rose colored glasses towards the government I made my tinfoil hat. I am happy here wrapped in my protective aluminum helmet. Not only does it keep thought probes out, it can also help keep my own thoughts in. Lol...

But really there is very little that our government hasn't lied to us about...
Hearing a notice from the government is just how I feel when I watch infomercials... What you are saying sounds really cool, but I also know that most of what you say is a lie... so...yeah.

I am more worried about nurses and hospital staff giving me MRSA, or something equally as terrible and incurable...perhaps something new from all the sicknesses blending together and forming one super duper virus...

What would you call it? If it means, "take this or you're fired?" Yet it's against the law to say, "suck my dick or you're fired."

The flu vaccination is a scam. Vaccinations can contain high levels of mercury with the excuse it won't work otherwise, contain eggs or can cause sudden death.

But it's all fucking cool! If you don't get one you're a selfish bastard not risking your life or violating your morals for the greater good!

If they work so well, if you don't want the flu, take the vaccination. Only those who don 't get the shot get infected, right?
if you can't meet the requirements of the job, find a new one.

once again, i'm being simple.

Fuck yes:

  1. Fluoridate the water.
  2. Genetically modify our food supply to make it more nutritious and cheaper.
  3. Flu shot every year.
  4. Immunize against every communicable disease for which there is an effective vaccine.
  5. Shower every day.

I am waiting for a genetically enhanced penis. I want ten inches, with a slight curve up and to the left.
