It's a Trans Instrument Horticare PH only. IT was 50 dolla. Has a warranty and works pretty well. I am sure there are better ones out there but I think it will do the trick. Checked it with a 7.0 buffer and it was spot on out of the box so I guess thats good..
I tend to shy away from diagnosing others probs unless I am absolutely sure of my dope. But that sounds like a good plan. It's real easy to overfeed with MG, and equally easy to overwater.
If you don't have it already I HIGHly suggest you get Cervantes book. You will not regret it. It is a compilation of his and many others input..irreplaceable knowledge. It's been through several iterations and is a must have for the beginner or even experienced grower. A few of the credits in the book mentioned are moderators and "senior" growers on this site. It is a must have.
I don't give seedlings anything but light and stabilized water (
just a fancy way to say I leave my tap H2O sit for three days before using it)
now until I see fresh nodes coming out the top about 6-8 inches tall with 4-6 nodes. When using tap this is a must do step..you would be surprised how the PH fluctuates out of the tap. Then I only hit them if the plants appear to NEED fed. Exception being when flipping the lights I do the 0-10-10 to prep them for bloom. The Happy Frog soil is pretty nutrient rich. At first I was just pouring stuff on my plants not even considering the soil was pretty ready to go out of the bag, I added a little vermiculite but I would be willing to bet If the pot were big enough it would almost go through a whole cycle without any feeding..I may try this just to see.
I have a ginourmous 10 Gallon architectural planter I scored for 5 bux at value village, sells for like 400 online, some pottery company in Cali. It is going to be the new home for the bottom left plant in the my clone box. It will be the momma from here on out. I have high hopes for this strain. The beans came from a reputable source and he told me they were old school Panama RED..He gave me @25 of them along with about ten other strains. We will see in a few weeks, She is really starting to flower now. I hit her with the 0-10-10 fish emulsion and holy crap!! Oh yeah, almost forgot, for 5 bux I bought some Schultz African Violet Food, 8-14-9 to go with it. I did a half dose of the drops and a full dose with the Fish. Stopped the MG tomato food for now because the N content is a little high for this stage I think..I gots plenty of nice leafy stems..no.. they are STALKS now..lol and more important HUNDREDS of bud sites. I wanted to still give them a little N but keep the P/K up. The Schultz also has some trace minerals like Iron and Manganese that do not hurt.
My ultimate goal is to be 100 percent sustained Organic. I would be now but My compost is under a foot of snow and I really don't feel like disturbing it until Spring..but come May...watch out.
Happy New year man.. I am off to load fireworks and head out to my moms, she is plant sitting some Babes for me, gonna do a SCROg in her nursery. She has a Hydro setup that I am itching to get at..and an indoor sunroom that used to house a hot tub, We are going to put a small 3 row hydro setup in. I have a natural two topper to start with, I will clone it when it starts shootin starts off. I am hoping she throws babies that look like her..ie the two tops.
Someone can chime in and tell me what the real term is for a plant with two naturally occuring tops is.
BUt anyway.. mom is pretty supportive for a conservative, She takes meds for chronic pain and what not, tried one of my medicated brownies and immediately jumped on board. Support like that is irreplaceable.
