There are fewer "good" police in my book, because if you are a cop and know of someone working with you that is doing this kind of shit and you don't do everything you can to stop it, then you get lumped into the crowd of bad cops, because it's the "good" cops who are helping enable these pieces of shit by not standing up and stopping them. They take their pay checks and turn a cheek to the unjustice within their own departments to benefit themselves and their families. Fuck all of them.
There are damn few good cops left these days.
And I'll tell you what, I wouldn't be able to control myself if anyone, cop or not, ever did any of that shit to someone I care about. I wouldn't even file a complaint, I'd just start digging the hole.

Cops are people too. Their job is to go from one call to another to deal with some douchebag's actions in one way or another. Most everyone hates them, yet expects them to put their life on the line for them, recover their stolen property, etc. When the police need your help to put away a bad guy, most people do not help them, then complain about how the police do nothing to protect them against the bad guys. When was the last time you heard of a cop being called to attend a bar b q? They deal with pieces of shit ALL day long, and see the absolute worst in people. Suicides, child abuse, rape, etc. It makes you jaded, and knowing that the legal system protects the guilty makes it all the more demoralizing.
Bottom line, if you treat them with respect and act like you are trying to help, they will treat you well. If you act like a dick, you will be treated badly. If you are doing something illegal and they catch you, THAT is on you. Man up.
I've had a couple dozen run ins with the police and almost every time, they let me go because I was respectful, and treated them like a fellow human doing a difficult job. Try it some time and see how far it gets you.

I see where you're coming from and agree with everything you said. Except I dont know if there are really as few as bad cops as you say. Very interesting though that you bring up the point of them covering theirs buddies asses. Though, I look in the news and see oh, a cop from my city was arrested in illegal acitivity. So Im glad when I see that. Though who knows maybe they fellow coppers knew about it the whole time and arrested him because of a whole other issue that pissed them off.
