Why not wait to find out? Because you sound like you bought a bucket of fear the Republitards were spreading to try and derail their plan called Obamacare.
Medicare hasnt changed for you
Obamacare doesnt affect you
Chill out and turn off the AM radio

Okay.... Chesus from the internet says chill out when my surgeon is telling me he is either going to quit practicing or make me pay a bunch of money..... Yeah, probably not going to chill out.

Then get another doctor.
Its not just this one doctor, may are doing it. Then many more people have insurance and the doctors that are still around are booked solid, over worked and prone to mistake. You don't just get a new doctor when it is life and death every time you see them.

So I'm just supposed to find another doctor that can open me up over and over again, bring me back to life when I die on the operating table? Just go look one up in the phone book huh? I don't drive to my doctors, I fly, he is two states away! Some people need to go to the doctor for more than antibiotics and pain meds, you don't just put your life in a random persons hands! I've looked for doctors around here and none of them compare to mine! You don't get to talk to other patients and see how they are healing. You don't get tons of reviews on how well a surgeon did or does!

Chesus doesnt realize that doctors are not going to work for minimum wage...

He wants to wait for the system to fail and then he will blame it on the Republicans.

Just because you're on medicare doesnt mean you dont pay taxes. There are plenty of people out there that pay way more in taxes than you do and on medicare. I'm pretty sure I'm one of them!

It is comparing apples to oranges. You do not get the exact same healthcare as here in the US. I cant say whether it is better or worse but the procedures are different, the education of the doctors is different, the technology is different, the waiting times are different, etc.

And although it seems to have been slipped through the door, healthcare is not a right in the US.

The US has led the world for hundreds of years... which country should we be more like?

If government takes over all of healthcare it will not get better or cheaper, it will get worse and more expensive. Take that to the bank...
You're full of shit. The Canadian government "took over healthcare", and it costs less than half per capita in Canada when compared to America. You don't think removing the profit driven middle man (health insurance companies) will make healthcare cheaper? Not to mention the fact that people will now go to a doctor to get a checkup, thus catching what could be expensive illnesses earlier, rather than waiting until they are very sick and requiring expensive medical procedures that could have been prevented?

my guess is Medicare keep you alive and that ain't gonna change after Obama Care
Even If I lost my medicare I would still have great insurance. I have insurance through my wife! So no medicare is not what keeps me alive.
I must have hit the nail on the head with the best buy guess???

Who is a rich fuck?

I have heard less than glowing stories about Canadian government healthcare...
You've heard stories. That's not a very compelling case against something when you base it off of stories.

I've lived in both countries, experienced both systems, and the Canadian system is hands down superior. I could plunk you down in a hospital in Calgary, and you would have no idea that you're not in America except for after the fact you won't be getting harassed by the hospital and by your health insurance provider for months on end over what they won't cover, and what you have to come out of pocket for. You show your social insurance card at the desk, and everything is taken care of.

Some Americans are so damn arrogant that they just can't possibly fathom a system from some other country being better than theirs.

and do you not understand that people with that new insurance will be at the doctors constantly? or the older person that goes to the doctor because they have nothing better to do but have insurance? Do you not understand that doctors aren't going to work with the huge pay cuts? Why would they go to school and work so hard to not make a bunch of money? Most doctors deserve every penny they charge! Obama care isn't removing the middle man, don't know where you got that Idea?

without a federal provision giving all regulators the ability to deny excessive rate increases, some insurance companies can raise rates as much as they did before the law was enacted.
“This is business as usual,” Mr. Jones said. “It’s a huge loophole in the Affordable Care Act,” he said.
http://thinkprogress.org/health/2013/01/07/1404901/insurers-premium-rate-hike/?mobile=nc

“Health insurance companies across the country are seeking and winning double-digit increases in premiums for some customers, even though one of the biggest objectives of the Obama administration’s health care law was to stem the rapid rise in insurance costs for consumers.”

Sure you can get cheap basic coverage (pain meds and antibiotics) but if you need more than that you will pay! You get the insurance you pay for, just like car insurance. Full coverage or just liability...

They don't pay for the big shit!
Health care in Canada is delivered through a publicly funded health care system, which is mostly free.

If it was all free why are the supplemental insurance companies in canada? (supplemental insurance such as Fair Pharmacare may have deductibles, depending on income)

Pharmaceutical medications are covered by public funds for the elderly or indigent,[6] or through employment-based private insurance. Drug prices are negotiated with suppliers by the federal government to control costs.

You also have to pay for your own meds or get insurance for that...

Your doctor is going to quit practicing? Really? 10 years of school, and he's just going to go flip burgers at Wendy's instead?

That's the same logic as people that claim that professionals will stop making millions if their taxes go up by 3% .... because it just won't be worth it anymore.
