yes, take cuttings in veg, especially if your in there pruning anyway. I do seem to have a slightly better success rate getting the lower branches to clone. I look for nice and green stalk material. not discolored and woody. woody stalks take a while to pop roots.


*Quick Q, If my understanding is correct in order to figure out my NPK ratio after mixing nutes its, for example : 4-6-5 + 7- 10- 5 = 11-16-10 / 3 (total number of ml used) = 3.6 - 5.2 - 3.3 final ratio. Just made up the numbers, just asking for clarification.

And Im still wondering what the specific density of DG is?

I'm not sure why you're dividing by 3 but figuring out ratios is basically adding and dividing.

i always forget about dirt. sorry about that i mean hydro. remember us talking about the problem i was having on the other forum? after i flushed with plain water the problem was fixed but i think i put too much silicate in and that caused the problem so i wanna make sure i dont make that mistake again

3 was just a number i came up with off top of my head, 3ml of nutes used. it was just as an example. total ml would probly be higher, like around 4 or 5.

Yeah, i did some PC work for a friend, they were sposed to order my PPM meter, so its not here yet. fronting is bad, whether its smoke, or work.....



*A point I brought up to my buddy (he said his ppm's were running like 1200 or so). I told him id runn at around 500. Think about it, why would you want to run your plants at borderline toxicity? doesnt make sense to bump it up till nute burn then back off.
wouldnt it be a far better experiment to reach optimum minimum nute levels? find out where they grow the best with out overdoing it.

its hard to know how many gallons different reserviors are because sometimes the companies are incorrect bout the size and plus sometimes i dont fill the res to the top so it makes it easy to adjust the tds up or down depending on what the plants need so thats why i need a ratio. i keep dumping in the nutes and additives till i reach the tds i need. advanced nutrients makes it easy cause everything is a 2/1 ratio 2 part to additives. to be totally honest i would never use a certain kind of nute/additive unless i knew what ratio to put and it was easy to remember/understand

I use 27 gallon totes, and by using a reflective permanent silver marker, (mine is sharpy brand) (so I can read it in the low light levels) I make lines starting at 15 gallons up to 20 gallons. No offense, but that method would drive me insane. One tip, when you make your mark, use very fine sand paper and pre sand that thin line that you make, so the marker doesn't fade. Hope it makes sense

Do you have your version of DynaGro's chart? Week to week ml/gallons?

I feel that would be insanely helpful.

Or Brewer, input would be great.

Hey there, im not sure i know what you mean by MY version..

since starting this thread i have modified my nutes to better suite my grow.

i still use protekt, grow,bloom
also use magpro now.

the "usual" mix is 2-3ml of protekt, 5ml grow, 1-2 ml magpro

thats the weekly mix for all my plants.

young little clonelings will get about half strength.

a cpl times during flower i will add another 2-3 ml of bloom, but i dont use it all the time just once in a while.

Recently I have begun to notice less stretching during the first 2 weeks of flower, im thinking its because i cut out the bloom during that time, but it could be due to colder temps. not sure yet.

Im just at a loss right now, I am reading everywhere not to go over 700, yada yada, im also hearing shit up to 1700.

Anyways, I run RO water and have been suggested to run anywhere from 5-10ml/gallon of Cal/Mag, well sure, makes sense. But that alone throws my ppm to 440 on a .7 CF (thats 5ml/gal of Cal/Mag+) So i have been scarce on nutes from the get go, but have battled def after def and cant find where my ppm's need to be- causing lockout's from tox's and shit..

Basically Im just trying to get an understanding if I need to be paying attention to my ppm, or how many ml's im throwing in. At the get go I was going by ppm so I could keep it under 650-700, running about 150ppm Cal/Mag and the rest base nutes, but had so many problems that I said fuck this, I have to be doing something wrong and started going by ml/gal and im progressively just fucking shit up... Its breakin my heart, my wallet, and toasting the fuck out of my kiddos..

What I meant by your version was how many ml's grow do you add week 1, then 2, 3, 4, then week one flower, 2, 3, 4... but im guessing your usual mix is pretty constant throughout.

lol, sorry, ya that would be per gallon.. i run about 600+ ppm, up around 800 when i add the bloom also.

my tap water is pretty clean comes out at like 40ppm +/-, after noticing issues i decided to try the magpro also. and it really did help.
i jus assume my tap is stripped of anything useful, probly 40ppm of flouride....

just started a new batch of nutes, 5ml/gal of each Cal/Mag+ and Gro solution in app 8 gallons of water- came to 1100ppm.

According to everything I've seen or heard, ml wise- this is right where I need to be. Fingers crossed and thanks for the help.

Actually I only through in 30ml of Gro so I am even undercutting it a bit.

Thinking maybe I should dock my cal/mag back to 3ml/gal just to see if that'll take my ppm down, closer to the 7-800 range.

You don't need the calmag.

ya, probly high on the cal/mag, which im assuming is like magpro.. iv never used it specifically, and am unfamiliar with it. start out with a tad weak tho on any "new" nute. look for signs of nastiness.

its really about being in tune with the plants, and that takes time. experience is the best teacher.

I use just a touch of magpro in flower, but zero calmag. I don't know what stage you're at but protekt and grow in veg works great.
