Is this normal ?

The upper-most leaves of all my Romulan plants have developed a purple color almost overnight. The purple color is most prominent in the middle of the leaf blades, starting from the stem but not quite going all the way to the tip. The plants were showing some signs of nitrogen deficiency last week so I upped the strength of my nutrient solution but it's still quite mild overall. Also overnight temp was the coolest it's been in a while, 16c, otherwise it been quite hot around here up to 40c. So my question is, is this a nutrient imbalance or just a genetic thing as I heard this plant can develop some purple colors.

My ladies, Romulan,

The purple you see is normal for this strain , it has Black Rose in it's veins,
Don't do a thing , your in for a treat,
I add a weak Mollasses mix until week 7 of 9,
watch out for fruitfly/fungus gnats though if you do,

I adore Romulan =)
Easy on the nutes
Drinksloads in bloom
Takes harsh Temps
Throw all the fresh air you can at them
They love a scrog net and some topping/bending...

Nice ladies :) Did you grow from seeds or clone ? Hope mine turn out as good. Yeah been going easy on the nutes myself had some probs earlier :P Whas thinking about going up to 50% nute strength next water but might hold off for a week or two when I re-pot them. Btw What do you mean by Black rose in their veins ? Mines more of a reddish-purple though lol.

I have seeds but those are from clones ,
What i mean is when crossing genes to create Romulan , Black Rose was the dominant strain used,
It's not actually black, it's deep purple, but that's were it comes from....

Go 1/4 strength until week 3 of bloom , use an addidtive like bio plus for root mass, 9-10 weeks flower time,
kick back and enjoy the buds look stunning.

Never heard of Black Rose before but it sounds like an awesome strain :) Next generation's romulan is supposedly Korean x Colombian. Maybe we got different cuts.

Its heat damage, not hing to worry too much about but you get a few more 40+ days you could be in trouble, dope plants hate temps over 30 and can go into lockdown for survival, they do like cool overnight temps though.

It's cooling down a bit over the next week so they should be ok if heat damage is the case.

I'm starting to get confused now 3 replies, 3 different answers lol. Anyone else want to weigh into the debate....

Your plant/s do look a little lime green(lack of N) but that purplish discoloring at the newest growth is normal on some strains. It will disappear. I see this a lot in seedling stage.

Was thinking it might be that too since I'm only using a mild nutrient solution. Lack of N and maybe even a little P too. Might have to take the plunge and go up to 1/2 strength next water.

Just making sure bro. Never grew a purple strain before so didn't expect it to turn over a single night. Also it looks quite light green so maybe a little extra N won't hurt. What you think?

In any case can't wait to smoke these babies. Peace out.

going off the pale green color i would agree,
just go easy with it,
remember nothing drastic ever works on young plants.
it could also be the high temp causing the paleness ,
they look healthy enough i would concentrate on getting the environment right first,
then re evaluate after that.
