Do opiates keep you awake?

Do opiates keep you awake or make you pass out?
Do you have ADD or ADHD?

I have hydrocodone liquid from CWE, and 5/500 pills. It's seems like when I take the 5/500 I could choose to pass out or stay awake, I get a warm fuzzy feeling throughout my whole body and a really warm brain flood when I redose, along with a go with the flo mood set. But when I take the hydro extract, I feel the same feeling, just not as relaxed, it seems really spacey n blank minded, when I start "noding" on the extract I feel really paranoid the sec I realize I'm tilting forward, then right when I pull my head back up I'm blank n spacey again.

So all in all I think I rather just pop the pill tbh, or half n half...

Anyway, feedback? :joint:

I do actually. I was prescribed vicodin awhile back and I could pass out. But it want passing out. I'd nod off for a couple of hours, have weird vivid dreams, wake up, take more, watch, TV. Restart.

A coupe nights ago I was really pissed off. A bus boy at my work sold me a percacet, 10mg. I didn't pass out until 6am. but I have been having a bad insomnia problem because of a mixture of problems I've been going through.

And I think you might be onto something. I definitely have some sort of add. Don't take the meds, fuck speed. But i've been diagnosed with it since.. Forever.

Pill opiates speed me up. If I take enough to get calm and relaxed yeah I am not going to sleep for a few hours. I love my weed I have looked at everything but growing diff strains well lets say I can melt into the sofa whenever I want and still function when needed.

They pep you up in a smaller amount but when you take more you get tired and most likely nod out depending on amount and tolerance lol

Correct. I'm now using the extract AFTER I eat them, it's been working well today.
I'm almost out though, so idk when I'll be able to get more :/

I can't recall a time when I took an opiate straight, without the added benefits of weed or some tranquilizer. So, I'm not sure. I do know that if you smoke weed and then take about 32mg of Adderall you'll be in a trance like state where you could climb a building no problem completely focused, yet space out when you reach the top. I also find that if you /want/ to stay up, it's fairly easy, and the same goes for sleeping.

Opiates are a travesty on our society and weed is still illegal, what is wrong with people lol. i mean if your in severe pain they help but still aren't a good thing. I mean indicas can do wonders for pain but doctors will prescribe you this shit and theres no way your not gonna get addicted if your taking it for months straight. I know way to many heroin addicts and the shit is a shame. And the goverment tries to brainwash us with pot is addictive and a gateway drug, what a joke.

The armies of old, use to march to the sound of the opium drum. It seemed to be a cure all wonder drug. It stopped pain, when you were hurting. It also allowed you to march on when you were tired. But also allowed one to sleep when taking the drug if so chosen.

Think they need to take a closer look at alcohol...

Do opiates "keep you awake"? that depends on what you consider the state of wakefulness is. A nod is not awake, but it is not asleep. that waking dream state of a full blown opiate experience is no by any means considered asleep. When one takes far too much semisynthetic opiates late in the evening one may go to sleep but the sleep is not nearly restful, it is filled with awareness or half awarness of one's surroundings and that doesn't make for a restful "sleep". Smaller doses can make the uninitiated sleep but I suspect that they do not have the disticntion between wakefulness and opiate sleep. There are occasions when I will take a decent dose of some sort of opiate just before I sleep just for that long long night comfortable semi-sleep that I am placed into.

Then there is the paradoxical effect where the right amount of opiates will amp the user up, having him be very social, want to get up and do things from party to work to cleaning one's house. That is a difficult position because when it wears off another dose MY repeat the efffect and it may not. Furthermore, the tail end of such a paradoxical effect an either simply wear off slowly or slam the user with a day's end tiredness that drops him where he sets imself down, not waking for at least a few hours.

I can't see using opiates for sleep regardless, although it doesn't serve to inhiibit rem sleep as barbiturates do, it doesn't really lend the user a good, restful result.

They really r addictive, I use to b addicted to heroin & cocaine for yrs. & then got off, & now after a life time of abuse to my body & moer steel hardware than I can count am now addicted to opiates once again. They have me on 2, 100mg fentanyl patches & Im only to take 6 #10 hydros a day, but I take them at least 10 at a time along with assorted other things & dont ever feel a buzz or a nod, but it does help keep me awake.. My advice is to stick with the weed, at least it wont kill ur liver,,

The Fent won't kill your liver, nor will the hydros, but taking what? 2 grams of aceto isn't real good for it, drink a couple of beers and that makes it worse. I thought i recently read that there was a new law that limits formulations of acetominiphin so people will have less of an opportunity for blood poisoning and liver damage when they take more than the prescribed dose of analgesic semi-synthtic formulaitons but I don't see evidence of that yet. - 2 100 mcg fent patches are a lot - seems like you would have trouble being altert and alive on that sort of dose but many times the doctor knows best - sorry you have to take so many pain killers. I never know which is worse, chronic pain or staying in a doped state ALL the time. Mind you, if you read some of my posts you will see I have a penchant for opiates but if I were to HAVE to be high like that all the time it would get old mighty fast.

All the drugs r bad for ur liver, kidneys, ect. I take the norcos & they only have 325 of the aceto, but in the amount Im taking is just assanine.. As for the beer, it just makes it where I have to take more hydros, the alcohol just ruins everything.. Now as for probably everyone else thats not been on them for over 20 yrs. it does make it better

I think they call that nodding.... it`s normal with opiates. imo

In my opinion, and it my opinion is worth about as much change as I have in my pocket right now - when one gets to the nod one has taken too much of his favorite opiate.
