I have a microscope but I want to get a loupe, it seems more convenient. I also use the camera, when the pics are good enough I can zoom right in and see the trichs quite well, works better with natural light. When I really like the plant, I usually make sure that its very ready, on plants that are not so great, my impatience often takes over.

Hey are you willing to try with some of your buds the KISS curing system??? I'm gonna try it and I wish I knew about it years ago, so simple =no burping, watching RH, blah

I kinda remember reading about this years ago and blew it off.....But recently Altarnation brought it up in his thread

air dry your buds after the chop like usual, then place in a open container or breathable bag in the freezer let it sit in the freezer for thirty days(or more/little less, it will get better-better) thaw out and you have perfectly cured bud with no fuss.......

worth a try?????????

Would a grocery paper bag work? Also my basement is very dry and the buds are usually dry to the touch in 2 days but still VERY moist inside, so I feel like I would have to burp in a glass jar a couple times before starting this process?

I will try it anyway, it's worth a try. remind me if I dont talk about it a month from now means I forgot

I was just reading on icmag. I will def give it a try, I will simply dry the same way I have been doing, and instead of putting it in the drawer(I use a comode to store my jars, helps keeping things organised) for jars to be burped/cured, it will go in the freezer. I will do side by side.

Yeah paper bag works, anything that allows it to go through the process of sublimation.....you can throw them in right after the chop too, whatever(freezer burn is sublimation/loss of moisture).....the beauty is that it losses very little THC in this method/no smell when curing. You can leave it however long you want in the freezer, it will only get better........so fucking easy

yeah man, it might be convenient when I am busy too, I will try puttin some in the freezer right after chop and come back to them 2 months later and see how it looks ! I wonder what are the reasons against the freezer, I also used to keep my buds in the freezer many years ago but I learned it wasnt a good idea so if anyone has any input as to why and why not, feel free to contribute!

Ok..............I've read some more on it, It needs to be a frost-free freezer(most are) meaning If it forms frost in it and needs to be defrosted manually from time to time it will NOT work due to the high RH levels(frost-free sucks out the moisture after you open/close it). Also buds needs to be hung dry before putting it in the freezer, EXACTLY the same condition as you would jar it normally/ so a big no on putting the buds straight in after the chop(was wrong!sorry)...other than that, pretty easy.

You put in the freezer for30 days instead of normal curing after hanging and drying. Then you leave the jar open. So you will have a layer of moisture and frost on your buds. Then when the frost melts. The buds will be wet after its been dry. Which in turn will lower thc levels and kill flavor. Making hay buds. Anyone who has had a frost free freezer knows iy doesn't stay frost free very long. My 2 cents

Don't knock it until you've tried it^^A frost free freezer will not frost on the sides ever, I'm not talking about the food products having frost from being uncovered(that's freezer burn!from very LOW RH air hitting high RH material)
Thawing will not lower THC levels all your doing is bringing the buds back up to the room's RH and will NOT be wet and will smoke wonderfully and can be jarred up or kept in the freezer .............Read the link I posted, answers your ??? better........I really trust some of the endorsements I got from this system.

Either way I'm trying it on some of my buds, If I find a set and forget curing system out of this=====priceless.......if not, back to babysitting my jars and trying to read my tiny ass Hygrometers

I meant the moisture will lower potency. why use hygrometers for curing. Unless its super humid where you are. I.keep.my.jars in th dark in a hand carved dresser droor. The wood some absorbs any RH. In the jar you want humidity. To make t hot enough for decarboxylation to start.

You cure in SEALED jar's without knowing the RH?? ......doable no doubt, but very risky IMO.

Hey Beef I think you are going to like all strains haha I like my last joint of the day to be potent and Spacebomb is one of the few strains that I can rely on right now. There is no way around it, I smoke a joint, I get high, and I can't lie about it, my eyes are like mirrors. Unless for some reason my male spacebomb was a bad one... I can't see that happening, given the fact that every single TGA seeds I have grown was stellar.

BTW guys fight all you want on my thread it's entertaining

The seeds probably reduced my yield ( I had 100 seeds or so ) but keep in mind it is a medium yielding strain. It did well for a 12/12 from seed and the flowering time can be as little as 45 days (45-55 days) I can't imagine vegging this strain it would get out of control when you switch to flower cycle. (I have only grown 1 female and here I am talking as if I had grown dozens of them..)

About the smelll...I smell hints of caramel when I first open the jar (the jar is almost empty ), but it has some other unknown smell/flavour that takes over the caramel, it's a new flavour/smell to my sense and I love it.
