As a guerilla farmer of over 30 years I have had to come up with different ideas to stay one step ahead of "Rip Offs", and "choppers"(Op. Green Harvest).
Now the majority of those thirty odd years was between Maui & Oahu. I have now taken my operation to the Big Island(Puna District). Even though the 'County Council',has voted down excepting new funding from the DEA to fly the choppers. They still seem to fly at least three to four days a week!
But my personal war is not about these choppers that are constantly driving me nuts. My was is against "Rip Offs"!! Big ole burly four legged black "Rip Offs"! I'm talking pigs here gang!
As a guerilla farmer, this is just one of the many challenges that faces us. I grow my crops in grow bags so I can easily move my stuff around. But lately a group of 5 pigs have decided to make camp in and around my property! Because of federal seizure laws, I grow right outside my property boundries. So I have to be selected about time I go and check my plants. So the past two weeks or so, the pigs have been causing trouble. Knocking over some of my plants with their snouts. Two of these pigs are ranging in the 150 to 200 pound range, and yesterday I came face to face with one of them trying to hide in the bush! Thank God I had one of my dogs(70 pd. Pit Bull) with me. My dog went into the shrub chasing it for about five minutes.
For any of you who have been to Hawaii(Honolulu) on vacation. My life on the Big Island is completely different than living on Oahu in and around Honolulu. I live in rural Hawaii. Puna has long been considered the 'Wild, wild west.' No street lights, no paved rounds in my subdivision, tc.etc, You hardly ever see cops around these parts. It's ideal for growing operations, and that's probably why choppers are constantly flying!!!
So today I will start the long process of setting up "pig traps". I really don't wanna kill these four legged bastards. I just wanna trap them and then relocate them somewhere else in the jungle. So far the damage to my plants have been minimal at best, but could get worse if not addressed right away! My plants are going into the second week of budding. The last thing I need is some stinky ass four legged beast bull over my girls!!!!
