how long will a 12/12 from seed grow take till harvest

Hey this is my 3rd grow first 12/12 from seed tho and was wondering if anyone knew how long my plant has left till harvest time, it was planted on the 10th of november and started to flower 3 weeks after it popped out the soil, I only have 2 20w cfls on it which have done pretty well so far but obvs more would be better.

What strain are you growing? Different strains take different amounts of time to finish the flowering process. Generally, indicas require less time than sativas to finish.

The only way to tell is by keeping a close eye on the trichomes. Once they start turning from a milky color to amber, the plant is ready for the chop.

I'm predicting my Indica to finish around 14 weeks from seed, Sativa's I'd assume would be closer to 18 weeks from seed typically, but these are just guesstimates and generalisations.

Its a sativa bagseed of some haze I got a while back, about 20% of the pistils have already turned amber and 80% like a milky colour. And I wondering if you know how much I would get off this plant when I finally harvest? I'm only using 3 20w cfls so I know I won't be getting a lot but this was really just a little test to see if I can grow lol ill try upload sum pics asap

Careful not to confuse pistils with trichome crystals. The pistils (little hairs shooting out of the flowers) will change color before the trichomes (the tiny 'frosting' on the flowers and some of the small leaves) do. It's pretty hard to see the color of the trichs without a magnifying glass or jeweller's loop because they're so small. When the trichs turn amber, not the pistils, that's when to harvest.

As for guessing how much you'll harvest, I literally have no idea. Without pics, precise details of your growing methods, ... there is no way for me to tell. My only advice is to not get too bogged down with how much you'll yield. Focus on growing a single plant from seed to harvest and keeping it healthy. The more times you do that, the more you'll be able to tinker with your grow space/methods to maximise your output.

Just want to (a) second sunny jim's advice here, but (b) add as well, a 10-100x pocket microscope is so much easier to check your trichs with...also there is a matter of preference for when to harvest when going by trich color; If I remember correctly the 10-30% amber trichs mark is where most people harvest (amber coloration being a sign that the trichome heads are starting their degradation) but that doesn't mean some people don't harvest earlier with more clear trich heads for more soaring highs, or that some peopel wait until a greater percentage go amber...so, IMO, stick with the rules of thumb you dig up (esp. in the harvest/cure forum) and try a few grows abiding by those, then start tweaking shit...if you journal everything every grow you'll be able to figure out what YOU want out of YOUR BUD, and know how to get it.

I have read the ambering of tricomes is the THC turning to CBD, can anyone else varify this?
