Lmao you'd be a great jury member getting all that info from some shit photos. knowing damn well you can't tell shit quality wise from those. It pissed me off cause it was a little girl comment, sounding jealous and just an immature hater statement. I bet if I didn't mention what strain I was growing you would have had a different attitude an everyone knows it lol. Look im outta this shit I have real people in my lifethat require my attention I dont have time for personal vendettas. I found another forum and so far no haters.

Peace

Bet the mods would be proud your discouraging people from the site. Especially when they've been a member longer lol.
The only thing shitty in the OP was the quality of the pictures. I can't speak for anyone else, but I sure as fuck couldn't tell you the quality of your genetics based upon a couple fuzzy pictures.

I don't really want to step in the TGA shit again, but there are some peeps on here that don't like subcool, or his genetics. I get the not liking subcool part. He seems to be a bit of a dick (as are most other breeders), but I don't really care about that. The genetics are really all I care about, and so far I'm pleased with the 2 TGA strains I've run. If his gear is treating you right, then that's all that matters. I've been pleasantly surprised by some freebie fem seeds that I assumed would be junk, and supremely disappointed in some expensive "top shelf" gear that I assumed would be fire. There are no guarantees when you buy a pack of seeds, but if you put enough time in to it you will surely stumble upon some gems.

Best of luck to you!

btw, here's a thread that you may find interesting.

Benefits of Vertical Growing
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=127881

bozo that link you posted has a chart the shows the Lumens produced by “ High Pressure Sodium “ bulbs , it shows that you should keep the 1000 watt bulb 10 inches above the plants and the plants will get 64,171 Lumens .

It also shows that if you put the bulb 4 inches above the plants it puts out 401,070 lumens , I understand that you cant put it at 4 inches with out cooking the plants but what I don’t understand is how can a bulb that is rated 140,000 Lumens put out 401,171 Lumens .

Watching what happened when you guys tried to help that poster reminded me of a story --- A father and son were walking down the street and they seen two dogs humping like crazy , the kid asked his dad what they were doing , the dad told him the dog on top must have broke his leg and the dog on the bottom was trying to help him get home , the kid said I see what that saying means now , the father then asked his son what saying is that , the kid says , well they say if you try to help someone in need you will get fucked every time .

Lumens are the metric version of footcandles. In other words, the light intensity at one foot away. The intensity of the light is greater the closer it is to the object you are looking to illuminate. The closer you move the light source to the object, the greater the lumens.

So, when you read that a light is rated at 140,000 lumens, that is basically telling you the intensity of the light from one foot away. Move it closer, the lumens go up.

You could move the light closer if you have a light rail/mover that is constantly moving the light overhead without any adverse effects to the plant (which is what I do).

I take it that moving the light would be to keep it from building to much heat , what I was wondering about was , can a bulb put out a light wave that would be more intense then normal sun light ? in other words if you could get rid of the heat problem would the light wave somehow burn the plant . Your system must really be cool , how close can you get the light with the system you have ?

My flowers can touch the lens of my light without burning.
Hi HomeLess , that chart we were talking about says that a 1000 watt bulb at 4 inches puts out 401,000 Lumens even though its rated 140,000 Lumens .
It seems that if you put that bulb 10 inches above your plant and get 64,000 Lumen and at 4 inches you get 401,000 Lumens you could make a triple pane glass and even if you lost 25% because of the glass you would still gain 250,000 lumens ? does that kind of thinking have any merit ?

The lens on my lights is tempered glass. I use raptor hoods, sealed with 8 inch vents blowing cool air from a lung room on the bulb. The reflector is designed to not create 'hot' spots. U run into a problem with diminished returns due to penetration of the canopy.

To increase the trich production we are using different spectrums.10,000 kelvan type of thing.

To increase production vertical bare bulbs in a grid or on light movers

I keep the light about 6 inches from the top of my canopy. I use a parabolic hood (no glass), but if you use a raptor like homeless does then you could probably go even closer. You have to consider the footprint that your dealing with as well. I run 6 plants in #5 buckets under each of my 1000 watt bulbs, so I have to have light dispersion to cover all of my plants, which limits me on how low I can have the light. I don't believe that my setup is really optimal all things considered, but it works for me, and I've got it down to the point that I could do it in my sleep ..... so why change?? :-)

Dutch style = bare bulb..... and yes I grow vertical also.....much bigger yields-
ever see a room where the plants grow up the wall....? ......instead of on the floor.....?....with some good TLO...or TLC...?

...but from what I read you are on the right 'track'[lol]....with the parabolic hood--

you get a 360degree light instead of 180degree when you use hoods---no waste 100% utilization of light-
......all the super pros I knew out west swore by this-

only problem with bare bulb is the heat exchange--gotta keep your room tight and cooled--

and yes --- vertical light ............not horizontal to answer your question:joint:

I've been wanting to try vertical growing, but I can't wrap my head around how to position the plants so that they are getting sufficient light from all angles. I may send you a PM to pick your brain on the topic if I decide to make the switch. It makes perfect sense to me on utilizing the light ..... just confused on how to implement it.

you place the bulb socket at about the top of your canopy, not up above it. tons of side lighting.
I was meaning the plants. How would the plants be positioned in the room (around the bulbs) so that they are getting light 360 degrees around each plant?

no you don't have to pick my brain---there's not much left when I get thru blazin....

just look at vertical grows on icmag--study it....you will have an epiphany
the Dutch swear by it and I know why----one word "yield"

i put simple rebar 'sheets' ....for cement vertically on the walls...trellice....
remember you can twist this shit every which way when it is young----like children

im currently trying to figure out how to 'trellice' a vehicle....chicken wire mayb....I want to drive it to hash bash-:joint:
it would kind of be like the ice cream truck ....only exception you get to cut the colas you like off the vehicle....with donation of course

i don't know how to get around the 'locked enclosed part' tho---mayb van interior ....custom van
im sure Abe letterman might have an idea or two.....since he can see things backward...rucky rog!

sorry I don't post pics--

EDIT: read thread about man busted for pot on u-tube....

These closed systems require 'tons' of AC.

Your bulbs will be centered between 4 plants and so on.. all grid-like. the plants on the ouside rows, or outside corners will have more or less light depending on elec/cooling limits. Ppl work in the G. when the lights are off cuz a 1000 bulb puts a nice brand on an arm.

These set-ups are popular w those deep water hydro systems cuz the plants can go mega and need much more water/food w all those possible lumens. biggest yields ever known are coming from this combo.

Been a member quite awhile dropped some lines here and there nothing serious. I guess I'm reaching out this time to share and indulge in the experience a bit more. Friendly criticism & suggestions are welcome also I love to share my techs and ideas so feel free to inquire!
Bet you'd like to rewrite that and try again, eh.

You asked for criticism, then made it 2 posts.
It's unfortunate cuz you are asking for help then went off on two of the guys that
can and would offer you the most help.
I think Marty's message was, down the road when you realize this, don't pm him about it. lol.

For what it's worth. Welcome and good luck. Hope you can avoid further battles and score
yourself some better genetics.
