"Why does anybody need an assault weapon"

it's simple. just find something in writing with citations that shows that 4 or 5 different news sources are all wrong and that he didn't bring an XM15 bushmaster with him.

i've told those fucks at the league office a million times i don't watch silly stupid videos. use your words.
The news media outlets call the AR15's and other assault rifles an assault weapon(s). That's a political term that was created in 1989. You quote news as fact yet they blatantly lie continually. Which outlet do you work for? Aside from your obvious trolling you must work for one of them to continually spew out lies. MSNBC? How much do you make?

oh, so you're just choosing to not call a bushmaster XM15 an assault rifle now?

did he or did he not go in there with his bushmaster XM15 assault rifle? yes or no?

I see U.B. is afraid to answer the real questions, and doesn't want to participate in the actual debate.

According to recent reports from nbc, no he had 4 pistols. I don't believe initial reports, it's a fight for the news media outlets to get their crap out first so they don't care what they say as long as they are the first ones saying something. You can be that ignorant, I am not.

But yes it's an assault rifle, not an assault weapon. It also functions like any other semi automatic firearm on the planet, one trigger pull, one bullet down the barrel. We should probably ban those too. Or are we in the business of banning things for cosmetic features instead of functionality?

You just noticed that?

mr2shims is correct, the term assault weapons was created in 1989 by the anti gun lobby. There are many semi automatic weapons on the market. But they go after the ar-15 and ak-47 because of cosmetics. A true assualt weapon would be the fully automatic weapons that our military carry, which are banned. In 2011 there were 8583 gun murders,of those 323 by rifles, and of those 48 were by so called assault style rifles. That is 0.6%. By contrast there were 496 murders by hammers and 1,694 by knives. Then the lefts argument will be magazine size. In 1999 Eric Harris walked in to Columbine High School armed with a Hi-Point 995 and 13- 10 round magazines. He got of 96 rounds before he shot himself... so that argument is not valid as well.

Let's not forget Virginia Tech. He carried nineteen 10 and 15 round magazines and fired 170 rounds. Magazine limits don't deter these kinds of people. They just carry more of them. Don't tell UB that. His brain will fire back with "Can't compute, say something irrelevant"

Assault rifles are rifles specifically engineered to kill people

You are not doing us gun owners any favors by trying to muddy the waters with bullshit

ok then.

so why does a civilian need a military style weapon?

are you self defending yourself from 30 armed men on the regular or something?
Are you in serious conversation mode? Oh boy I'm excited now.

What makes it a military style weapon?
