Thanks alot picasso. Do you use that one? Will it only need to be calibrated once or will i eventually need more of that calibraton solution?

I do use that one, my only complaint is that it isn't waterproof. I dropped it in the water once and it took a few days to dry out, but it still works fine after it dried.

I calibrate it every single time I use it. If you are careful, you can reuse that solution quite a few times. You want to be careful not to contaminate it and have something start growing in there. I also have a bottle of calibration fluid and I put some into a baggie and reuse it a few times. A little pint bottle would last you a few grows.

I just picked up one of those Milwaukee's, they work like a charm.
...WAY better than one of those handheld pool pH/Chlorine testers. ugh.

I'm on the Milwaukee program too. Started with the fish tank tester, but the longer I looked at it against the chart, the more I saw what I wanted to.
(numbers are kinda hard to screw up unless you are lex-dicstic :) )

As for cal, a cheap cal solution (for pH) is distilled water. Will be 7.0 give or take a point. I have yet to cal the TDS and EC of my meter. I just do pH and 'look' at TDS. (Got to write it off since I can use it for work on the EC scale)
