i could go with clones instead of seeds, just 2 things,

ive heard that clones dont do as well outside as they do inside, is this true?
also clones are a bit harder to get around here, strain wise anyways, i live in so cal so i see clones on craigs list all the time but i would be stuck with whatever they have. Clinics have clones sometimes but they usually just sell them as clones without a strain associated with them, and they are expensive as shit from clinics

Go with clones, they perform very well outside. I was allways growing (outside) plants from seeds and only in my last grow Ive tried some clones = much better than the whole plants, I mean you can control them better for pests, they have a better ratio bud/leaves, they are more discrete and they yield -for their size- better. Three clones yielded as much as a whole single plant. Buds structure and bag appeal are much better in clones but potency is the same as the whole plant.
For my next grow I intend to grow only clones from my selected strains and get rid -or donate- the mother plants.

This season I'm gonna be doing seeds and clones.


Gonna put my strongest pheno seeds in the ground like they should be.


Clones are going in huge fabrique pots.


I've already started digging my 3 cubic foot holes for each of my strongest seed ladies. They will go in these holes with Roots Org/Super Soil after a few months of vegging inside the tent indoors and then outside before their final resting holes.

i mostly did it because i have them growing 24/0 so they are moving pretty fast. and the roots had already started to loop around the bottom of the cup 3 or 4 times. So i wanted to move them to big containers and i figured id get the foxfarm soil to put them in. I got a bag of it and these plastic bag grow bags(1 gallon) i font really like that they are bags but they were 10 for $1.39 so i couldn't beat the price, and they ended up working well. I did 10 last night but ran out of soil, im gonna get some more soil and do the rest of them tomorrow hopefully. The ones i did last night though grew crazy. They had a new set of leaves coming out when i transferred them last night(could barely see them), when i got home today around 4ish i looked at them and those leaves were already like 1 1/2 inches long. Cant wait to get the rest of them on the bags

yea i think the ones i grow outdoors this year that i get really good seeds for, i think im gonna get clones off of them and just keep them going inside so ill be able to pull clones off every season for outdoor

Here are some pics, today is day 10 since they sprouted

I have got 10 of them transplanted in 1 gallon bags with foxfarm soil in them, they seem to be loving it.

I have the 1 gallon bags for the rest of them i just need to get some more soil, they are still growing in the little cups. i need to get them out pretty soon though because the others one i moved already had roots building up at the bottom

haha thanks. yea i would have rather had some real pots for them but i couldnt beat the price since i need 30 of them, it was only $4 instead of $60 lol

Haha. It's good that you flipped them the right way. Some people have the black on the outside and the black plastic soaks up all the heat then you have to water more often and it gets all crusty quickly. The white on the outside... Like you have it, will reflect the light, and in turn, keep the roots in a dark, cool, moist environment. I told my girl yesterday "damn I wish I could speed time up about 6 months and see where I, and everyone else is at this year with their grows." Patience is key here. Haha

oh awesome, i figured one way was better then the other but i just guessed, glad i guessed right haha.

man i know, its gonna be a longgggggg year. i cant wait till i have some budding inside and my room smells fantastic, or even when they are budding outside and i wake up every morning and walk out and am greeted by it, i love the smell of budding plants in the morning

I'm outside on my phone assessing the damage of what I gotta get done outside. Yesterday I ripped out a small tree and built a small greenhouse to house a couple dozen when I start acclimating them to the outside weather from my tent. It's supposed to rain later so it's gotta be quick today.

i know i cant wait, they are all gonna be monsters.

For the ones i keep inside i will probably end up putting them in 20 gallon buckets. it will probably depend on how many turn out females. I have 25 right now all looking healthy and big, so worse case scenario hopefully about 12 or so will be female, unless i get really unlucky.

For the ones outside i will probably do a combo of ff x happy frog x perlite to put them in the ground in.

As far as inside, ive been trying to decide where i want to put the grow area in my room. Right now they are just sitting on a table with the floro above them but that wont work for flowering because there is no real way for me to close it in for darkness. I was gonna buy a grow tent but they are expensive. ill probably end up building a tent out of 1x2s and mylar, we will see though.

i also am still trying to decide if i want to try out hydroponics or areorponics instead of soil. Ive been doing research on them for the past couple weeks. There was a thread on here of stinkbuds where he outlines a aero/nft set-up that looks pretty cool and fairly cheap to put together. i dont know i need to do some more research still.

ill prob end up sticking with soil at first because the first thing i need to buy is some lights. Im thinking about getting either a couple 150ws and some misc cfls spread around or maybe a 400 or 600w. i also need to do some more research on those though because i was going to get one with a switchable ballast so i can use both mh and hps bulbs so i only have to switch bulbs for flowering instead of switching ballast and all. I have heard the switchable ones though arnt great as if you have 1 mh and 1 hps. if i can end up find seperate hps and mh on craigslist for fairly cheap i will prob go that way. my local hydro store has some 150W HPS for $70 and some 400W Hps for $99 but those are both hps so id need a mh also. they have a switchable 400w for $119 and a switchable 600w for $189, and ill prob go with the 400 if i can find some more info about how well switchable ones work.


*side note- i think when i go to get more soil im gonna pick up some maxicrop seaweed extract also to supplement with

how long will you let them get acclimated for? Thats one thing im worried about putting these ones outside after being on 24/0 for so long. i imagine ill prob slowly switch them to 18/6 or maybe even 16/8 before they go outside though. im worried about sending them into budding if i change it too fast >_<

Yeah, you're gonna need a tent or build a structure to house 25 vegging plants until they reviel their sex's to you. You're off to a super good start though with some knowledge under your belt for sure. I'll be getting rid of my pair of 150's. These ones were used for these past 3 months and that's it. I have the boxes & receipts if you want.. shoot me a pm and I'll shoot them to you cheap seeing how I'll only be using T5's after I'm done.
Time to turn the compost pile.
