Spider mite/gnat indoor infestation**what is safe to use to get them out of the soil?

PLEASE HELP-I HAVE 4 INDOOR PLANTS AND 3 HAVE A SOIL INFESTATION OF SPIDER MITES AND GNATS AND I CANT GET RID OF THEM! TRIED HABANERO SPRAY, TRIED VINEGAR IN A BOWL WITH HOLES POKED IN SARAN WRAP TO TRAP THEM-NOT GOING FOR IT. I JUST READ ABOUT USING DETERGENT IN THE SOIL IS THAT EVEN SAFE? IVE GROWN BEFORE, NEVER INDOORS, AND SHOULD HAVE NEVER BROUGHT THEM IN FROM OUTSIDE. NEXT CROP EVERYTHING IS STARTING & FINISHING INSIDE. THE MITE ARE TOO SMALL TO TAKE PICS OF I KNOW LADY BUGS WORK BUT I DONT NEED THE 800 THAT THEY SELL! I DONT WANT LADY BUGS FLYING AROUND MY ROOM.

IF ANYONE CAN HELP PLEASE REPLY

Just buy the 800 ladybugs, put 10 in your grow area and set the rest free! lol

I hear Neem oil works to get rid of pretty much anything?

Sorry to hear that man I've had them once and I learned my lesson bcz those fuckers are a bitch to get rid of the guy at my local store familly friend gave me this stuff that not on the market it looks like milk and he calls it (THEMILK) so best thing is to go to your local hydro store and ask for it its behind the counter no label hopefully your local guy knows what it is.

Seriously , its easy to contain the lady bugs by using sprite or sugar water .. You want to coat them down with a good spraying in order to keep there wings together .. I have used this method and kept 2000 in a 8x10 room .. A few weeks later they died and I got out my shop vac out and cleaned up the mess .

Maybe you should look into Ed Rosenthals Zero tolerance or any other horticulture oil based products .. Rotate a few every few days and they will be a thing of the past if you are diligent . Most times not a grower will believe they are gone and let there guard down , not knowing there is almost always a few survivors or eggs .. Find and destrop the last remainder of the colony and youll be free !

I speak with experience and I have kicked there ass more than once and trust me once they are gone , eliminate them and then rest up ..

Warning , many of there concoctions that are kept under the counter are often very toxic , dangerous and illegal as well .. I want to know what the hell I am using on my garden !

for gnats. i have the light with the glass tubes i found they like to fly up to the light so i cut with a small glass drill a hole about 1/4 inch then cut it again with3/8 and again with half. thye fly around the outside of the light tube tell they get close and my fan sucks them in and the heat kills them. i never have them for long. you can make one from anther light source other then your hps. one bugs like. and us anther fan to make a vacum.

You will need to take pics of the leaves close up those pics show nothing, cant see mites. Also mites are not infesting the soil, gnats can do this.

THE MILK #1 1/2 cup baking soda, 1 cup 100% organic vinigar, 1/2 cup organic apple juice, dilute solution to 2 litres. Mix #2 1/2 cup baking soda,1 cup 100% organic vinigar, 3 tbs lemon juice (from fresh lemon) 2-4 drops of 100% organic dishsoap, dilute to 40 oz's there's your under the counter illeagle poison :) I used both mixtures and alternated every 3 days and spray with the hids off about an hour before they come on in the morning, or right before they go out for the night

awwe man i had the same problem with gnats,,its not the ones flying you have to worry about its there larva that eats the roots thats the problem..you need to try to keep the top soil dry to stop the flying ones from laying eggs and dry out the pot for a couple days since they need the moist soil to live also ive used sand on the top of my pot since it hardly holds water and seem to keep the ngnats from borrowing hope this helps

not much useful info here. mighty wash for the mites, BTi (mosquito dunks) for the gnats.

check out the post in the RI medical section called "Quantum Apocalypse, to kill mites" this stuff is an organic and non toxic spray that wipes spider mites out completely. it is a neem based product that is way more effective than traditional neem oils.

Great advice.. I was just about to recommend the Ed Rosenthal zero tolerance.. I used it outdoors with white widow. had spider mites and leaf hoppers and I sprayed that stuff all over the leaves and ground. Took care of them very fast and I kept spraying for few weeks after.

vicks oil and neem oil only in veg, and Dawn soup in a spray bottle for the gnats. When you see them, by the soil.

This work great for me, and I'm not paying over $40 for mite stuff. FUCK PAYING $100 FOR less then a GALLON OF MITE STUFF.

Sticky traps too.

I'll hit them with full dose of vicks(can hurt some strains-might need less) then wait a week, then hit them again with Vick's oil. After that I just use neem. Gnats I just spay the shit out of them in soil and flying with Dawn dish soap . 2 big shoots of Dawn soup in a litter spay bottle. You want the water light blue.
