i don't use perlite preferring coco in it's stead but i do use either hydroton or grorocks or gravel or lavarock in my res, depends on what i have handy. ...i like it because these all provide weight at the bottom of the pot for stability and all seem to provide a very happy environment for my roots.

Awesome Bozo! Gotta love that coco. Before I read the text I looked at the pictures and thought "those are 3 weeks in" then I saw the identical text you wrote (neener,neener)....looking at your girls, next week would be a great time for 7-10days of PK13/14 additions if you roll like that...makes some monster buds.

Shiva, dude that is bigger than my Coleman 5-man camping tent. I'm so jealous.... If I had your tent, I'd put a cot in there and sleep there when the wife gets righteous. I'd put on some tunes and party with those girls!
Say, can you tell us about the structural integrity of the ceiling...interested in how much weight I could hang in there.

My two Pineapple Express's grown in 2 gal "mapito" hempy buckets are now history and "on the books". Trimmed all Friday eve and did two sessions today...still have 25 golf ball sized buds around the mid's that need trimming tomorrow. Too, I need to singulate the small buds off the big colas for assurance during the drying process (can't put those colas in a jar either). This I can say is my best all time harvest for two plants. My experience says 9oz dried. My quest to get the most from a small 2.5' x 4.5" footprint with only 400W in my home has found closure. As I trimmed this I found that it is "identical" to my C99 buds from last grow for look and smell...it's just that these are rock solid colas that are freaking heavy and not "airy". I dropped some scrapings off the scissors in a bowl and was ethereally enlightened by just a few vapor hits. There has to be some C99 in PE's lineage. The last pic are some "fatties" that weren't as long. By the way these plastic coated clothes hangers from Wallmart are awesome for drying....

Hell ya my woman is already bitching about how much time im spending in it! With the tent shell around the frame its pretty secure. a heavy hood doesnt even flex the supports but my extraction fan/filter makes the support bow a little. If you distributed the weight it would hold a lot. Without the tent shell on it though it wouldnt hang shit lol.

Hey thank you guys so much for the help. I will post pics tonight or tomorrow of the whole set up. I will try not to ask to many more questions, hempy seems to be pretty str8 forward and user friendly.

Do have one question about the perilite. I got the huge bag from hydrofarm and found some , what I assume to be uncooked glass? or silica? what ever perilite is b4 it hits the kiln. Do I have to pick these pieces out? will these raw pieces have any negative effect on anything if I dont?

Be back later with some pics. The girls are moving from there 16oz. solo cups,under 250 MH. to 1.5 gal. waste baskets, under 1000 HPS 2nite... Rooted clones 2week veg under 250- str8 to 12/12 under the 1000.

Dont want to do a journal, is it o.k. to post a few up-dates here from time to time?

Well im getting low on good smoke So i need to get motivated..Got more plants in buckets..found 4 for sure males...potted up 7 for sure females from seed plants and 13 clones..got 13 clnes and 9 seed plants to pot up then ill turn both lights on for serious week or two veg so i can flower these fuckers. Took Watts advice and about half of my girls will be ffof soil with perlite hempy res.

@ moebius how's the GDP and cheese grow gowing? I ordered 5 regular GDP beans last week.

I didn't start my GDP run as I was planning to last week. I decided I should make some improvements to my grow-room before embarking on so many plants. Hopefully .. I'm a go by the end of this weekend.

Its too bad we couldnt swap phenos and strains amongst WOH. I love gdp and Moe yours looks awesome. Soooo we gonna have a WOH purple off soon? I have a few Gods Gift that I was told is purple erkle by lavender? Its definitely a purple strain and im guessing that a few of my purple elephant x maui seed plants will carry the gene...winner makes pollen or fem seeds and anonymously ships the genetics to WOH members to pollen chuck with..lol j/k.

Sad at this stage when the girls start getting ugly...dropped nutes in half last week and now its plain RO water till this weekend. So, these will be the last pics you'll see until I trim. I'll for sure get you some pics of them manicured.
Notes on the Mapito medium experience;
* Excellent water retention with still lots of air to be had in the PU foam.
* The buckets got so light when the res was exhausted it was scary, but no wilting seen...ever.
* Watering frequency did not get shorter as with coco. It got down to every 3 days but stopped there...as a matter of fact in late flower I had runoff occur before the 1gal per feed was exhausted...so 1/4gal went to the bushes outside for the last 2 weeks. Could have been the lower temps of winter though.
* A little bit of light colored crust formed on the top of the mapito..no biggy...probably mildew. I'll resuse it one day with the addition of Cannazyme.
* Is the Mapito responsible for this mass of plant tissue seen here? Can't say...I shared some offspring with others using coco and they are freaking monsters I hear, but in 5gal non-hempy buckets under 1000W lamps.
* Anybody guessing the final dried weight of both plants combined... to the nearest half-zip...after a 2 week cure... gets +rep.

I said I was optimistic.. not that I was anywhere near accurate..lol - I've seen 2lb pulled from 1k watt hydro setup, but 400 watt could/would be a small magic act - am sure there's a secret ingredient... every grower seems to have one.
