Newbie with dry buds

Hey I'm new to the site, thought I'd sign up and get some advice.

I'm almost finished with my first grow. 2 bubba kush, a chilly willy, an afgoo, and a jack herrer. I'm not very experienced obviously and made about every mistake I could along the way. I hung my buds up to grow on a line in an extra room with a fan on. The only thing is the buds seem extremely dry, crispy even. I'm just wondering if this is okay, and if not, if there's anything I can do to correct this. Here's a couple pics

I'm kind of bummed out, so any suggestions are appreciated.

Nope! Dont ever blow air directly on the buds to dry...too fast and your crop is gonna taste awful... 55-60% R.H and around 65-70 ° to dry

Also if the stems snap crispy then its too late... If there is still a little flex...jar them.... keep an eye on them to make sure there isn't too much humidity is left in the jar...open the lid every so often...

Get them into jars asap! Let a hygrometer guide you from there, if below 50% already you might be screwed for a good cure!

Its not okay to blow air directly onto buds to dry as it dries them out too fast.. unless you have an extremely humid environment..
Do the stems snap easily?

Agreed, no direct fan.. and for being one new to growing.. kudos on the Jack Herer for a first time grow Jack can be a lil' tricky sometimes, and is generally not what some would consider a 'beginner'-type seed.

Not bad at all for your first grow don't be dissapointed. It is a long journey all about learning and making mistakes along the way. Get them into mason jars as soon as possible and they will retain some of their moisture.

Yeah on a clothes line with a moving fan a couple feet back but not directly blowing on the buds.

If the stem breaks but not clean in half, there is still moisture in the buds... test it out

I have an old school gauge that measures humidity. Not sure how reliable it is though. I put the bud in glass jars and the sativas smell overwhelmingly like green tea.

Jar em and feel the change in a hour..Redistributes the moisture. Yes and get the proper tools.

You can always add moisture to your nug man.. Add some orange peel, banana peel, etc to your jar. Or tape a wrung-out paper towel to the top of the jar lid. Burp it every 30 min to prevent mold and rotate your buds. I prefer orange because it imparts a pleasant smell to the nug

I have done the orange peel as well, I would recomend putting a barier between bud and orange peel as the oils will leave an odd taste on the bud. I will generally place a small piece of plastic wrap to set the orange peel on so as not to touch the bud.
