The setup:
150w SunSytem HPS
Gl60 (2x2x5) Grow Lab Tent
Fox Farm Ocean Soil
4" Carbon Air Filter
4" Inline Fan
6" Clip on Fan
As far as stealth goes this setup is very nice as far as hiding light goes.
The space is perfect, 2x2x5', there is plenty of room all around and I am able to setup all the equipment without taking up valuable space.
ALL light is concealed in the tent beside when the flaps for ventilation are opened.
This setup is in my closet of my bedroom and I hate leaving the inline/carbon filter on.. It is not quiet..
On my next grow I will use subs organic supersoil recipe but for now I am using Fox Farms Ocean soil.
I heard mixed reviews about this type of soil and the company in general but I have no problems so far. The nutrients are organic- made with earthworm castings guano etc..
Now I used to have a 250w HPS but this was a kick down from a friend who used it a lot. It got far too hot, had no reflector hood and constantly made this buzzing sound you might hear from a street light a parking lot ..
I got this 150w Brand New from SunSystem and it works fine.
I might use the 250w during the flower cycle but for now the 150w certainly does the job given the amount of space and the square feet.
In order to get the seeds to sprout - after germinating 5 of them in a wet paper towel in a ziploc then choosing the best two - I'm using a CFL 2700k. I will use two of these when they get a little bigger then I will use the 150w at the end of the begging cycle. (Without the noisy inline / carbon air filter on the temp with the 150w gets to 85F) (the best goal is to keep the temp at 75 during the day) This along with the noise from the fan would not make this stealth grow IMO. It is a nice closet grow though.
(The bin is only temporary- the temp is about 75F)
It has been about a week since the seeds sprouted and they are doing just fine with the clip on fan blowing to help them become stronger.
Ill continue to post updates on this thread. Thanks !
