Hi, If I bought an old junky school bus and buried it so the roof of the bus was about 5 feet underground and converted the engine to a diesel generator to power the lights do you think theres a chance that could ever work ?? the roof is reinforced to handle the weight of the dirt and theres already a hatch in the roof that could be used as an entrance. Obviously the engine would make a piss poor generator and would probably work like shit so maybe using a propane generator or natural gas generator would be better and just use propane cylinders to power a generator instead. you could also redirect some of the exhaust into the grow area to supplement co2 levels and get better yields. watering would be the hard part...rain catchers buried underground on top of the bus or man made basins filled once per grow cycle could suffice. Using LED's or T5's (fluros) might be better because of the low wattage and minimal power consumption needed to operate them. The LED's and T5's could be powered through a power inverter which is powerd via a series of car or transport truck batteries ( which ever is bigger lol). The batteries are charged from either the bus's diesel engine or a small natural gas or diesel portable generator which is set on a timer to run once a day just long enough to charge the batteries to do their work for the day. keep in mind if only flowering in this space you only need to operate the lights 12 hours or so a day, OR.... You could just bury an extension cord underground from any power source you want. lol

All bs aside, a schoolbus is far from watertight, far from supporting the weight that will be applied to the structure from the potentially wet earth covering it and just a general logistical nightmare which contains more safety concerns that it would ever be worth.

im not a newfie lol. Im fmo Ontario and this was clearly for entertainment purposes only bro.. lol by the way you talk im guessing your from southern ontario too. you act like im actually going to do this or am suggesting to anybody to do it. I just thought it would be coo if there was a way to buy an old school bus and convert it into an underground grow bunker fool.. thats all.

and by the way.. this has already been done.. the guy did it but instead of using generator.. he just stole electric.. but got caught with a couple pounds.. then searched with dogs to find his grow op. very good idea ACTUALLY. besides stealing electricity lol ..

lol new school. nope. but i will say crazy idea that hamster is a running. why not buy a tractor trailer. the ones they put on trains big steel one. dig a hole without anyone asking questions. drop it down in put a few holes in it for venting and access. put lots of trees on it run ur vent stacks in side the trees. have a pooper shed with a underground wire going to it for a light(in the shiter) then run that wire down (cause the pooper is ur secret hatch to get inside this fine setup.) make shure u get a few garden gnomes to put out front ofthe pooper to look out for intruders.(CCT) then set up shop. the last place some will look is the shitter lol.

The cheapest/strongest/biggest thing i could thing of is an old school bus. Theres tons of them rotting away in junk yards everywhere.

that sounds epic man. lol some people grow in trees believe it or not now days lol hoist a 5 gallon pot into the canopy or build a platform in the canopy where it gets awesome light. we need a new forum section called '' creative grows "
