Hey there fellow RIU'ers..
I have recently run into an issue, for my 2nd time now...


I am used to blowing my butane/oil into a dish, then i let the butane evap, then i usually scrape up material and throw it into my vacuum within a couple hours... And when i do so, i can achieve a nice puffy foamy ball at room temperature eventually, letting me know im ready for the next step in my process....

Well.. i once let my sprayed material evap in my dish for about 3 days... I then tried my vacuum process, and could never achieve that foamy ball characteristic, and then, i never achieved anything really other than goop..

WELL, here i am again.. i was forced to leave my house RIGHT after i sprayed. SO, i let the stuff sit out for a few days, and now im back in the same boat..

i have not put my material under heat. i am able to vacuum the product, and i can get it to bubble on me, but nothing else! and this is under no heat...

i would really love to achieve some type of hand workable material by the end. (taffy, shatter, glass.. etc i usually prefer honeycomb/wax)

maybe somebody on here uses this as there standard process please let me know what to do ! im feeling a bit angry, and lost :[


P.S. I had an idea of respraying a can or two over my already sitting oil... and try to get the oil to think we are doing the process the original way :] thats the BEST idea i have come up with so far. please help!!

Sorry, I've never had that issue, but it sounds like too much butane is purging out just sitting around, to inflate a muffin. Maybe if you froze the oil while awaiting final vacuum purging, you might keep that to a minimum.

As far as stiffness goes, if the butane is gone and it is runny, I suspect decarboxylation. What temperatures are you running and storing at?

As far as respraying, I've never tried it, but ostensibly you could do it in a chilled thermos and keep it liquid long enough to redissolve a gob of oil. You could speed it up some with stirring and starting with several smaller gobs.

i dont think its decarboxylation.. it was laying dormant in a room with temps 60-75 and humidity 40-60....

hope to make a useful discovery tonight..

Try gradually heating it up on a glass plate/pie plate. Your looking for 120-150f, no hotter IMO, once liquid, vacuum purge. Best method to heat it up is hot tap water without risking anything, most hot water heaters should be between 110-135 depending on how far/old it is. Goodluck

i feel your idea brother, and i may eventually try that, but at the moment, (im not trying to count my chickens before they hatch), but i usut test sprayed a glob, and well now. im getting my foamy ball... !!! :] will update results..

i tested with a little glob on parchment, so i could throw it into the vac easy..

well, while i sprayed, nothing happened to my glob, in fact it froze up like a rock... SO, i started basically whipping it, eroding it it down in the butane, and it all finally dissolved.. I did not favor this scraping on the parchment, so im going to put my main batch into a pyrex, and do the process in there. wish me luck!

Yes! so looks like things are the way id like them to be :]

MAN! this shit was hard, its like chopping up a super frozen ice cream... I had to bust out the razor just to break it up, and after that, massive amounts of swiggling swaggling was involved to break down..

i kind of splashed here and there, but all will be worth it!

i hate the dish though, i can just see all the stuff im not gonna get... i think im gonna loose 2-3 grams since i fucked this up from the beginning ..

i love spraying right onto parchment... but the razor blade would have torn right through it if i tried to save on parch...


First few pictures are of my test, got the muffin!

now i will continue the process, shooting for the ultra ultra double blown super purged wax

I got pretty much my muffin ball.. melted her down, then put her under 26 HG over night @ 107 degrees..

Woke up, found a very honeycomby looking oil..



I am now at full vac 29-30 HG and at 117

those bubbles in your first pic are from not heating long and hot enough. try getting an electric skillet and setting it to 145 degrees, we check ours with a laser thermometer. works like a charm, no stirring or vaccuums needed. waxes up everytime

this idea realllllly frightens me.. can you tell me if im correct with the process:

spray into dish, let tane in dish evap naturally,

heat skillet to 145 deg

put my dish on skillet (145 deg)


and let sit?

you get a wax to come out of that? can i see some pics of final product?

do i let it sit till i see wax? interesting.... any fans blowing on it?

!St Set Skillet to 135 degrees or around that temp then put pyrex dish onto skillet start spraying your material into the dish the heat from the skillet should be evaping the tane out as you spray then you let it sit for a couple mins till the bubbles become less active then do a light stir of your product to move the Butane bubbles around then scrap on to sum Parchmenzs paper then vac purge for 2 hours at 135-145 degrees by then your product should be stable and no air bubles should be coming form the thickets!! Hope this helps peace!!

haha dont be freightened, the MIP's out here in colorado that are cranking out wax by the kilo arent stirring or vaccuum purging.

145 is below the decarb stage and above the boiling stages of butane compounds, simple as that homie. (

everyone should notice that when you press your finger on the tip of a bottle of butane it goes straight into the atmosphere. the only reason the butane is a liquid in your pyrex is because of the temperature, quantity, and surface area, if you had an infinte surface area and could blow tane and move at the same time, you would make wax almost instantaneously on a warm pyrex.

i aint never gonna let the dish sit out like that again... its taken a lot of work, getting a touchable oil consistency, it tastes good on dab though!

open spraying onto an electrical device may not b the smartest thing my friend lost all his facial hair doing this



also letting your erl sit out for a few days is no prblm if left LONG enough most stuff ran from QUALITY material will dry out on its own
