So heat is your issue and you need more amps to run something to control your heat? How many amps are you currently working with?

Thanks, I'll definitely look into that next time, but this run is in DWC. I'm beginning to realize that I probably should've gone the soil route with landrace sativasTop dress with mulch. Slow release nutrients, helps retain moisture, other benefits... Looking great OP.
make sure that you are running that AC unit on a massive gauge extension cord. pulling 9 amps thru a puny standard extension cord for even a 25 foot run is bound to heat the cord itself, and reduce it's lifespan, as well as could make for an eventual fire hazard. Thanks guys! The source of the heat is coming from the 400w Solar Storm. That bitch runs hot. Oh, and the A/C is a 14,000 btu unit that's supposed to have "evaporation technology" so that you don't have to worry about water dripping, but that failed miserably this weekend and left me with a massive puddle. That's today's new pain-the-ass project, but I managed to put the a/c (running 9amps) on the GFI circuit by running it to the bathroom. The constant air extraction from that shitty booster fan is starting to work. I've got my temps ~83F, but I agree splifferous, I DESPERATELY need that damn carbon filter. I'll work on that this week.
I have a filter running out my window already Luckily, it's only the "evaporation technology" from the A/C and it's behind the blinds, so it's not visible from the outside. And it's upstairs.
You are a wise one, my friend. I very much appreciate the info, but, unfortunately, I learned that the hard way in my last (first) grow... I bought a slightly above average gauge blue extension cord to run my 1k ballast because of the same issue with the breaker and it melted itself to my carpet. I'd have started a fire if I hadn't made it back in time to find the puddle of melted rubber & carpet . Lol, yes, it is aptly named. I was pissed when I found out the 800w solar storm had slightly better PAR output than my 650w Lumigrow. Now that I know it makes it hotter than a whorehouse on nickel night in there, I wish I would've invested in a 325w Lumigrow.make sure that you are running that AC unit on a massive gauge extension cord. pulling 9 amps thru a puny standard extension cord for even a 25 foot run is bound to head the cord itself, and reduce it's lifespan, as well as could make for an eventual fire hazard.
on a side note, i think it's an aptly named panel, that Solar Storm... especially if it's able to raise your temp 12 degrees F (as you state in post 60 on the previous page) with a mere 400w draw, and with a 14kbtu AC unit already on full blast in there.
i don't even need an AC in either of my rooms...
damn! i bet that was a scary discovery! you were very lucky indeed! You are a wise one, my friend. On trimming. I've been trimming all the fan leaves below the SCrog net, but I don't know if I should cut the smaller shoots that are ~2-6" above the screen, but still being drowned out by the bushiness? Would you recommend any further trimming and how long do you think these Colombian Gold will stretch? They're @ almost 3 weeks of flowering and hardly show signs of budding. They're definitely both girls, though!!!
I'm super sad that I just found out these ladies are probably going to herm just because they're landrace sativas.. Bummmmmmeeeeerrrrrrrr.

Hell yea! I just left it there when I moved out. There was no stain remover that could fix that, lol. And thanks! That was what I thought with the trimming, but for the beginner, it seems counterintuitive to block out the lower sites. I read in DJ short's article that he has a "trade secret" he won't reveal about his light schedules and how they affect the plant's traits. I'm scared that the 11/13 would induce more sativa-like characteristics and I'm trying to avoid stretching at all costs. I've got a curiousity boner about trying that out, though. You're a smart fkin dudedamn! i bet that was a scary discovery! you were very lucky indeed!
about the trimming, at a minimum i suggest that you remove the axillary growth below the canopy but leave the leaves intact. the branches will otherwise continue to grow and stretch in the shadow of the canopy and will tap the plant's resources more than they will contribute to it. the leaves down there are OK to keep because they are the plant's solar panels afterall
are you giving them 12/12? try shifting to 11/13. .
Lol, I don't remember. Tis' all good. Thanks, Fran! I hope I can produce sexy bitches the way you do someday. You're a champion. Those Vipars look like a sweet deal. Hows it treating you? I'll give CFW a ring today and see what they have to say. I hear they have pretty good customer service, so I'll soon find out. If only she was my real girlfriend I wouldn't have time to grow or post on here. I'd just fuck her all day long. That's Lyndsey Fonseca from Nikita. She's a sexy assassin that's in love with me. She just hasn't met me yetHey G, you should be all over CLW about the heat. You should get an exchange for that panel. You may have a shit driver in the panel pumping out the heat and not correctly powering your LEDs, perhaps causing them to run hot and hastening their demise. I put a 300 watt Vipar in my tent and the tent's temps only went up 4 or 6 degrees in the immediate grow area, and taking off my glass helped get that down a bit. Maybe you should get one of those portable thermostats and you can plug a few of your lights into it so when it gets to a certain temp, say 86F, they'll turn off. Might help.
PS I posted a comment in the Cup Comp thread after yours and I said something about you having a hot panel. I hope you know I meant your Lumi being an excellent light and not your SS400, which I didn't know was causing you problems when I posted my comments. I would never make fun of your problems. Not even in that thread. The part about your girlfriend being hotter I did mean though .
PPS Plants look great BTW! And I liked how you showed them who's the boss!
If you're attempting to cash-crop landrace sativas hoping for frosty buds, someone lied to you at some point. Far leaning sativas are an experience, not just something that f*cks you up and they sure as sh*t don't have much 'street bag appeal'. Assuming the genetics are there and you've grown these right, they'll be in a league of their own as compared to that indica garbage that is dense and white.I FINALLY got a scrubber for like $50 at the local hydro store and it's awesome. I also picked up another 110lpm pump to replace the 45lpm that was giving air to the SSH x c99 and El Alquimista who finally earned a spot under the LED's. They're ~3wks into flowering and didn't get much light other than the CFLs and reflected light, so I decided to chop the smaller Colombian Gold to make more room in the tent. I didn't expect them to get that big. I mean, I expected tall, but not tall and bushy. I really hope I can produce frosty buds, otherwise this was all for nothing. I can veg the shit out of these girls, but that's the easy part. I didn't get to make it through flowering last time, so wish me luck!
