Is this temp too low for indoor?

Whats up everybody, i just started my first indoor grow using t5 HO fluorescents for the early veg stage. When the lights are on, the temp under the lights is usually around 75-80 F. When the lights kick off though, the temp drops down to around 58-60. Would this hurt the plants any?

I think it should be around 70-75 all the time but i dont think it would kill ur plant in the 60s idk tho goodluck

I am a total noob with little experience, and I'm in a similar situation. If I turn the T5's off, the temp gets into the mid 60's. I run the 4 foot T5 (8 bulbs) 24 hours a day to keep it 75-80 for now.

I dont think it would hurt it i wouldnt want it to drop any lower then that

That's about like mine.
If it got any lower, you might slow down a bit, but no real 'damage' until you get into the 40's.
Low 40's gave me a P lockout.

That's perfect bro. Could even go down to 50-F couple of advantages with the cool dark cycle temps.

in my cloning room/vedge room i only have 2 2ft t5's and when the lights go out i have a 1ftx1ft heat mat that comes on 1 hour before lights down and stays on 1hour after lights up and that keeps my temps in the 70's of a night

Alright I have been growing for some time and I am all about quality over quanitity, But as far as temp and yeild is concerned I would keep my temps around 10 degrees less at night time unless running co2 and in that case I would drop them by 20 at max. You will see alot better product in the end if you keep your temp higher.

I don't agree 100% with that statement. I do agree that a more normal temp will give you a plant that will finish on time. A colder temp will slow her down some. A colder temp will give you a denser bud. A more colorful bud. A colder temp will harden off your plant. Less problems with bugs with a colder temp. As potency is concerned, I really don't see any increase in potency with a colder or warmer tempature.
(I'm strictly talking about colder temps in the dark cycle of flower (mid. 50's) and (mid. 70's) in the light cycle.

OP is in early Veg... mid to low 50's...
Sounds like winter nights in the basement...
What I have noticed myself growing with low temp in Veg...
Slower, everything slows a bit, plants seem very healthy down to 56 last night, after 3 nights near 53...
Not growing is not an option...
Also...Clones root slower for me with low temps...

your saying a heat mat keeps your entire grow room at 70*f ?? Im just curious what size your grow room is.. I didnt think a heat mat could warm up the entire grow area like that.

Nope, not true. Temperature just creates the foundation for homeostasis in your ecosystem created. The best temps ( on consensus) are 75-78 to 65-68 and if you hit too high of temps you will actually decrease your yield, not increase. Yes co2 will vary things a lot but most guys who use co2 don't need to be asking temp questions lol.
