How do you trim?

Just wanted to know how others trim.
I have noticed that some people just trim the big leaves off when harvesting and then let the colas completly dry and them perform a final trim before cure.
I also noticed on youtube that some people trim completly then dry and cure.
What's better?

I remove large fan leaves and the smaller ones before hanging them up. I leave the smaller sugar leaves on and don't remove them, my friend said he had done a side by side at some point about leaving the sugar leaves on and said the end result was a bit more pungent after curing.

Edit : I don't know if that's true tbh, but it works for me and is a little less work.

I wet trim then dry for indoor. I mostly dry trim for outdoor due to weather issues. Not enough time to wet trim when the bad weather is lurking. Then you can trim at your own pace without worries if its all inside.

Used this last year. :-)

No offense bit that article was very hit and miss. It doesn't take a month to cure weed and drying doesn't affect the psychoactivity of the plants unless you dry them in bright sunlight or let them mold. I will tell you how I have been doing it without any complaints for twenty years. First when I have decided the plants are ready to go I cut all of the sunleaves off while the plants are still standing. It's the easiest way I have found to do this. The moment you cut a plant down the leaves start to droop and curl which is a pain in the booty. On a still standing plant if you have to leave and come back to it the leaves aren't smashed against the buds, which will cause a loss of potency because you are damaging harvested trichomes. After the sunleaves are removed I will cut off most (about 75% of the bract leaves and use them for hash production (who can complain about free hash?) then I hang them on a string with a small oscillating fan which I direct at a wall to cause a circular air draft going which lightly blows across the buds, but NEVER directly on the plants. Then when it seems dry (but really isn't yet) 3-5 days in I take them down and put them in a cardboard box (no wax coating) and let it sit for another two days or until the stems snap. At this point I remove all the excess stem and wrap the box in a dark plastic garbage bag to keep it from drying out crispy. I don't use galss jars because light will breakdown the thc. It's pot, not moonshine. I have never heard anyone complain, except if I don't let it dry enough. After the first few harvest you will have the right amount of drying to a science. We all know you have to leave some moisture in the dried buds or else you have buds which crumble into powder when held in a bag in your pocket. Too dry, people get angry, too wet people get angry. The reality is people overcomplicate a relatively simple process creating problems where none previously existed.

I trim her almost bald when wet, then I dry hanging large limbs usually about seven days depending on how much is in the closet. Then into jars opening everyday to check once fully cured the stay in a rubbermaid bin when in glass to prevent light from getting to them.

i trim wet. gets it out of the way and dries faster. less chance of mold issues trimming wet as well and i also think when you trim wet the little pieces left over from the larger leafs trimmed shrivles up into the bud while drying making it look better.

A slower dry is better, makes for a better cure. I cut the plant at the base and dry it untrimmed then I just trim all the fan leafs and larger sugar leafs and cure.
