Led vs T5

Lol these guys don't know what they are talking about. The good leds are expensive. Over a g each fixture. If it is not that expensive then the rig sucks. Like the ufo you just explained. That sucks. My led will blow away a t5 any day. Just it cost 1400 dollars for the 330w LED

Think about LED as being similar to T5 in that you need to pretty much cover the area that you want to grow; light doesn't travel very far off the side of the fixture. Having said that, I bet that you would need multiple of those 100 watt units to cover your grow area. If you want to do that, then LED can grow some fantastic bud (really trich laden) but if you don't have the money/ inclination, T5 can grow some excellent bud too. I probably wouldn't go with a UFO anyway. There are better units and quality counts a lot with LED lighting.

The light spectrum that CAN be provided by LED aces any other source of light - period. But like another poster said - at what price? For now T5 wins hands down.

Hey Pothead 18,
LEDs will blow your mind! I thought my eyes were going to explode when I turned on my little Kessil. And the house plant on which I tested the light - I swear it clowed green after I turned off the light. After one night of use the pland grew an inch in the middle and the stems got thicker and stronger. The weird part is the lack of heat. I think it freaks out the plant also. I used it for a Sativa (Malawi) grow and had mixed results - mostly from my first time trying to grow indoor hydro.
Cheers,
Mo

not all leds are expensive check out grownorthern.com and ledhydroponics.co.uk they have a great array of leds that cover alot of budgets, grow sizes and diferent spectrums avaliable. dont rule out leds you spend less on electricty with a better footprint on your garden and a more specific light spectrum that plants eat up. you water less because there is less heat to evaporate the water, they also have a 5 year waranty so if it burns out send it back and get a new one. make the educated decision and go purple (led):-P

those are older models the ms 0004 and ms 0006 are theyre new and improved panels. the plant pictured above was under 2 ms0006 panels. could you have pulled 300g from a 600w? because that is grown with 540w with an actual pull of less than 500w...

Not saying you're wrong... I'm trying to learn here cause I really wanna go led myself. I'm just trying to justify the cost. There's just so much conflicting info out there.
