Rootbound already? Plants wilting day after flush?! Week 2 flowering

Hey guys, this is my second grow.

Setup: 2(1000w) HPS 2(xxl 6" hoods) 1(435 CFM 6" Exhaust with 6" Carbon Filter) 3 2(6" 400CFM(1 cooling hoods, the other Exhaust). 3 Gallon Pots, AN's 3 PART G/M/B and Hobbyist Level additives, Promix HP. CO2/w timer set to come on when exhaust's are off for 2 hours and 20 minutes.

I noticed about 16 hours later after flushing my plants with a good run-off in the tub that they were wilting. Now, in my personal opinion(which I'm still asking for yours lol) I think they are root bound because I over-used AN's VooDoo Juice through out ALL of Veg which I found out later I wasn't supposed to.. (yes yes, I read the side bottle AFTERWARDS). Here's the thing. I transferred from 4 inch square pots, to 1 gallon pots, then 3 gallons and I topped plants about 5 days before flip. Total veg time was 5 weeks.

Question...

1) If root bound, how will it affect my yield?
2) Could it be because of the CO2 and high temps that it's drying too fast?
3) Is it too high of a CO2 concentration?(flow meter is set to 1.64, for 10 minutes which amounts to the room's size and brings up to 1200 ppm at 0.0012 conversion x 224)
4) What can I do to solve any problems?

  1. Nothing in your original post suggested the plants could be root bound. The best way to determine this is to show us a pic of your roots.
  2. What are you referring to when you say "it's drying too fast" ?? What medium are you growing in? Hydroton? Perlite? Soil? Peat moss?? High temps can cause your medium to dry out, and so can fans/air circulation.
  3. No
  4. Not enough information, from looking at that pic everything seems fine.

I don't think so man, your plants look healthy, and from what I remember, my last 4 plants, around week 7 I was still in a 2 1/2 gal. pot.
The one I am on now, I vegged for 30 days, and the other 3 were 12/12.
Have yours perked up since the drooping after the flush?
If you're REALLY worried, you can wait until they dry out, and tip them out and peep the rootball.

1) it all depends, as usual
2)CO2? No. High temps, maybe.
3) No.
4)Hold your damn horses!

Your roots need oxygen (H2O2 will kill the benefits of VooDoo juice).
My plants defiantly show a lack of vigor when they become root-bound, but I digress to the previous comments.

Thanks for the replies. It's the droopyness the next day after after the flush and the soil was completely dry. I'll post pic's of a male plant that I had killed and it's roots real soon...

Edit; roots are frozen to the container... I'll post pics later today if possible. However, the root structure when I had looked at the plant I had killed was GIGANTIC...I mean no space was left in between...you couldn't see soil from the sides at all...Just roots.

1. I will have em up soon..
2. The soil it'sself, Promix HP

Here's a picture of roots of my male plant that I had killed 2 days ago. Mind you, roots are frozen because they were left outside in -9C weather. Before the frost, they were thick white.

Somebody correct me if Im wrong, but all plants become rootbound, even in big pots. Its not specifically something you can or need to avoid.

Why they become rootbound or why its not a problem? Im guessing the 2nd. Yes the plants need pots big enough for their size, but eventually they will become rootbound no matter the size since thats just what roots do, they grow. If rootbound were the only thing you were looking at, youd have to get a pot several feet wide to prevent it.
