First of all, bullshit. Second, W. is a well-known shooter, and the one of Reagan is staged for Hollywood, not staged for politics like the ones of Kerry and Obama.

Is Obama trying to appeal to the majority of gun owners? Probably to some extent. Could he give a shit what the extreme fanatics think? No, they won't support him on anything anyway, even if it was originally their idea. I am not a huge Obama supporter policy-wise and I am also not a huge gun control supporter. Admittedly, I don't own a gun and feel safer when they are not around, but as a social libertarian, I can't pick and choose the freedoms I support. The ongoing Obama witch hunt is pathetic. Look at the weather when he is firing, it was August! I am not claiming the house wouldn't lie or stage something for public perception, but I also don't think they are stupid enough to do it at the drop of a hat for something irrelevant. They knew upfront that the lunies would call it a fake and said as much in their release. So if anything the value for the white house in this is not showing that he really fired a gun, it is in proving once again how toxic and psychotic the opposition has become.

Someone posted a fake picture of Obama shooting a gun and claimed it was fake and put on the whitehouse website
Then someone dug up a picture of Obama actually shooting a gun from last year
Your point that there is a witch hunt is spot on

That's a reasonable position. For me though, it is still trumped by profound doubt that Obama chose to shoot a gun because he wanted to. Perhaps someone was smart enough in Aug to stage a shoot (gun and photo). But even if so the point remains - Obama is not a shooter and it is an attempt to mislead the public. Besides, when the first picture is a fake, it's pretty much a chuckle when they come along with a second one, authentic or not.

My only problem with the term is that it is used in blanket fashion. I have great respect for Asians, Native Americans, Hispanics and many others. But not all. And if that makes me a racist, then I DO wear it with pride.

I have never shot a gun. If I was somewhere, say Camp David, and I could skeet shoot I would give it a shot. And if I liked it, I might pick it up. Obama never claimed this has been a life long love of his. He has never tried to b.s. his gun lovin self the way both Romney and Kerry tried to. I have found in life that nine times out of town, the most logical and non-nefarious explanation is the true one. When there is no such logical explanation, I start pondering. Why is it so hard to believe that Obama went likes skeet shooting after he gave it a try. Why would they stage a picture in August and not release it until now? Do you think they staged these shootings to promote gun control and had this ready as part of the master plan?

Obama just got done with what looked to be a tough election. If he was trying to appeal to gun owners, why wouldn't they have had this picture out to help with the middle of the road gun owners in the election? That would have been a logical explanation at the time, but releasing it six months later, after the election, is not.

Bottom line is that the public and the majority of NRA members support the reforms he has proposed. He doesn't need this pictureother than to show how whacked out the right wingers have become.
