Awesome Bozo! Gotta love that coco. Before I read the text I looked at the pictures and thought "those are 3 weeks in" then I saw the identical text you wrote (neener,neener)....looking at your girls, next week would be a great time for 7-10days of PK13/14 additions if you roll like that...makes some monster buds.
thanks man and sorry i didn't get back to you sooner, ...man this thread moves fast! lol.
...anyway, i expect i'll try a PK booster in the future but i'm in a new place and dialing in new methods so i want to wait until i am completely familiar with what i can expect before i introduce any additives, ...i want to KNOW if they are effective or just a waste of money so doing a few runs with just the Jack's Pro will give me a baseline to compare to once i do start the additives.
If I wanted to, I could run the same strain over and over and maximize yields on that alone. But our state's MMJ laws have a 25 mile rule where if a dispensary opens within 25 miles, they take away your cultivation rights on your next years MMJ card. So I'm trying as many strains as possible before that happens, just for the experience of it all.
i don't know man, growing is HIGHLY addictive, ...if they opened a dispensary across the street from you i doubt you'd stop growing, lol.
Irfanview is a free, and simple editor.. nothing as powerful as paintshop or other stuff, but does quite a bit of conversion of pic type and re-sizing/basic edit.
Hope this helps!
...yeah man, i've been using the
Irfanview for a few years now and for general photo maintenance and light editing it works like a charm, ...and you sure can't beat the price!
i want to do the cfl but i dont know how to go about it. and trimming was hard for me... it hurt cutting them like that. and how much lower foliage would i have to trim off to lolipop it. each mother has at least 20-30 colas.. and i was thinking about putting a soccer net over them. they cant support themselves up as it is already idk how they will be able to when they flower.
and my bestfriends gf.... well lets just say i watch alot of breaking bad... jk..or am i?
...if you need help with setting up CFLs you won't have far to go as they are easy and there are MANY here with the requisite skills to help you out. ...frankly, all you really need to do is get a multi-bulb bathroom vanity fixture, mine have 4 blubs each, and add splitters, easy peasy lemon squeezy.
I'm trying to move away from perpetual just because I want all my plants the same height. It will also help me dial in the feed for different stages of flower, up till now its been more or less the same for small plants and big plants.
...yeah man, you don't need to give up on the perpetual nature of your grow if you have a veg space, just staggered harvests.
i used to run a high-density micro-SOG at one time and at full capacity i ran 55x 1liter Smartwater bottle 'pots' and i pulled 10 every 2 weeks in a staggered harvest.
...i'm still dialing in so i've still some details to work out, like plant count, i'm currently running 11x 6liter 'pots' but i plan on getting to just 8 plants.
...anyway, i'm lucky that this new apartment has a 4ft5inch x 4ft5inch x 8ft closet that i converted into my flower room and that freed up my 4 x 4 DR120 which is now serving as my veg tent.
what that means for me is i'm able to veg my next round while the current round is flowering so when i harvest one run, i immediatly flip the next run on the same day!
...so it's still perpetual but all the plants are flipped on the same day and mostly harvested on the same day, with the caveat that some finish faster than others, ...i try to always run at least a couple flavors for variety with each run so there IS some fluctuation in the timing but for the most part, i flip the same day as i harvey.
...and i try and match them up so i run 8 weekers with other 8 weekers and not with 10 weekers, lol.
...so basically i'm still running a SOG, just on an 8 to 10 week cycle depending on which strains i'm running.
These are tentatively what I'm going to use for my scrog. They are about 1.5 gal like my blue bucket and there will be 3. They seem kind of small but when I see what my other one did I think they can handle it. My thoughts are, what am I going to use as a tray? The red plates would probably work ok and I might be able to slide them out still for cleaning. Worst case I throw a towel in the plate to soak up the solution if I need to flush and the plates full. If I go with something deeper I surely won't be able to remove it. What say all of u.
When I used individual catch trays I tried using a sponge but it is a pain. I later went on and used my wet/dry shop vac and it worked great.
...lol, i remember how grateful i was and how stupid i felt when someone recommended a 'bucket-head', ...i didn't know what the phuck he was talking about, lol!
They look nice and stable, not sure the cost would make it worth it though. and I do like the dimension of the bottles.
I tried for ages to find a racking system like they have in supermarkets for 2L bottles. I looked for about a week but couldn't find any suppliers. The trays they use are designed to drain freely, be washable, and you can carry them with the bottles in. ... Next time you're in the supermarket have a look at them, they're genius piece of design.
Apparently, theres a company that holds the patent and leases out the trays to supermarkets and makes millions. The supermarkets don't even own them.
This is one type of design.
...often, if you buy 8 bottles, the store will let you take the rack home with you, ...i think i have 8 or 10 laying around from when i was doing my 2liter SOG, lol.
anyway, as i'm not keeping a journal i thought i'd post up a few more shots of my closet donut and these were taken this morning and are at day 37 from the flip.
all in 6liter coco-hempys with either hydroton or grorocks in the res and all fed nothing but Jack's Pro, from rooted clone until the looming harvest with the caveat that they get a 2 week flush at the end of just water and molasses.
peace, bozo
