How important is a magnifier? Thanks for the links! Is it to hard to tell by naked eye and intuition?

I never use one. But I've grown quite a bit, and can tell when a plant is done just by looking at it. I can tell you still have like another month of flowering to go.

Once you've done it a few times, you will have a 'feel' for it, but until then, 10 or 15 bucks is well worth it.

Checking the trichomes with a magnifier is the best way to assess plant maturity. Pistils will give a general indication but if you're looking for the perfect harvest spend £3 on a jewellery loupe.
