Sexing 10 plants (2.5 weeks in)

1st off i have not had to sex plants for a long time.

I am trying to get them sexed at young stage then back to veg, my father does this method so i thought i would try.

I was wondering if the female will show her signs of hair before the male releases pollen? and do i have a long time before that happens?
I ask cause i have 10 small plants of NYC and 7 of them have a hard yellow top on main cola (look like a pollen sac but not too sure)and 3 do not.
The 3 that do not are not showing me anything. nothing on top and nothing at internodes. I'm just curious about the tops as the internodes has small something there.

I guess that the ones showing signs are males but hard to tell since its still early but don't want to mess up and get the girls pollinated. just have to wait longer i guess

It definitely looks like the first 3 are males, but the last 2 pics not quite sure give them some time. I would destroy the males asap. The method your doing is a fine way of finding females but what I like to do is just veg them until they start showing their pre flowers which takes any where from 4-6 weeks from seed for me. I usually keep them in 3 gallon pots and once I find out their sex, I get rid of the males and transplant the females to bigger pots. Males tend to grow faster and show their sex faster as well so I would get them out of there because they might open up.

I was able to get a great picture of the 3rd one, the rest didn't come out any better.
so 6 look like they are males then and then the hermie, leaves me with 3 possible girls out or 10 not bad, have 20 more behind these. I hope i have better luck.

Thanks again

1st looks hermie. second is male. Give the first a few days to open up and be sure. In the first pics it looks there are a few un opened bananas.

Yeah i would move it so that if it opens it won't pollinate anything.
