To me the supreme court did what they are supposed to do Interpreting the law. Ive read a few opinions from the original bill writers and they arent suprised either. And when that law is loosely written and did not directly deal with dispenseries or get more in depth about p2p all they can do is enforce the law that is on the books. This is the time we refine the law. It was written loosely in the first place to ensure a passing vote. Now that we have confirmed that a majority of Michiganders approve of mmj we can amend the law to deal more specifically with the disp and farmers markets.

Yup, and it had little effect at the time and almost no effect at all in the long run. I know the SC trumps all else in the state but I'm hoping we see some more "freedom fighters" stand their ground again and challenge the system.

Little effect? It shut down nearly every 'dispensary' in the state. A few brave souls in friendly areas stayed open, but prob 80% were gone in about 48 hours. Some reopened but in my area all closed until Danny opened one up across from the courthouse a couple of weeks ago. Cops answered when you knocked on the closed doors to that one today. Or so I am told.

although-

the pyramid model doesn't work either as the law only provides for supplying meds for your patients "medical need".
providing your patient/caregiver with meds to transfer does not meet that obligation.

we all knew this was coming. the sad factor is that we are past the point of ammending the law. it was our move and we blew it. big pharm, tobacco seeing this is now initiating their move.

What I got from it is basically you can't use immunity as a business. As a cg your still protected by having your legal amount on you. What you do with it is still in the grey areas.

I understand thought I always thought a 'bud tender' was someone that managed several caregiver's grow or was a consultant to them.

The point I am making is that 'bud tender' is not a person in the Act. I think we have gotten in enough hot water making things up that don't exist in the law. Like dispensaries, farmers markets, and P2P sales. We don't need to add another made up classification like 'bud tender'.

There is a whole bunch not in the act, such as a "legal" means to obtain what is actually referred to in the text. An attempt to partially clarify the absurd is irresponsible of the SC IMO

The SC decision today simply found that a local municipality can lawfully utilize "Public Nuisance" statutes (just like a noise violation) to shutter MMJ facilities within their community. On the other hand, nothing stops decent local municipalities from enacting statutes to the contrary, protecting the rights of their citizenry rather than conning them out of them mid game.
