heat stress???

Thats Quite True. My plants run in 35 or 95f quite alot, Not much i can do about that due to The fact i live in Australia, and it would be cheaper to by my dope then pay the extra electricity on cooling that room.

I inject my plants with co2 as i have read that the plants cope better with higher heats if they have higher traces of co2 (dont quote me on that though, im not sure where i read it).

Yes, the higher heat is helped out with more co2, but what do you mean you "inject"...

Cooling your room down can be as easy as adding a 7 inch fan to blow on the lights.
Or blowing cool air towards the plants.

I have a 3 inch laptop cooling fan in mine, and it makes a big difference.

After altering my lights a bit, i realized it wast stress, the plant was just growing towards the light. I put the light more directly above it, and my baby lookin straighter than ever. growing its third set of leaves already. All my seedlings still have the catyls.... is that normal? i thought they fell off after first set of leaves..

Ill post some pics of all my babies tomorrow.

Hey shaun and bigbull, sorry for jacking the thread with this question but,

As shaun knows i also live in hot areas, i run at 35 celcius quite often, sometimes even a whisker higher,

i know what carbon dioxide is, i memorized the periodic table when i was 15ish, (fuck i was a nerd...)

I know what you mean by injecting it, slow release in very small quantites or its gonna "eat"* all the oxygen.

What are you using as your source?? and your delivering it with an air pump on a timer?

* i used the word "eat" metaphorically so the broader community could grasp the concept.

Well, I Actually brew Cider . And my method is With pressure caps. I Later found out that this method was producing Co2 when i was searching for cheap co2 projects so i moved my Juice inside my box.

If you look at this pic u will kinda see what i mean

You can have a look at the site which i brought them from here http://www.oztops.com.au/

I Use my own yeast now as ive long since finished the ones that came with it

I Dont use any sort of measuring system just yet as im a poor man with one kid and a new born baby, so my money goes towards my family :), Hence why i try and do everything on a very small budget

I Also Forgot to mention i use the shake method . I Shake the bottles up and turn off the fan once a day for an hour. Just so they get abit more co2 (Hopefully , of course without any Measurment tools i can only go off growth rate, Which Seems to flourish when the bottles are New and placed in the box.

That's great. I've been wanting to do something like that, but my exhaust is so aggressive to cool my 400wHPS, that I feel the CO2 would be evacuated out of the cabinet to quickly and not get to the plants. I max out at around 82f but it's winter now, I know in the summer I'll have temp issues... :(

You Could Always Turn Off your fan For an hour during dark periods and inject some Co2 at that stage (better then nothing) I also have an inline fan that sucks air out of my box, but i still see a noticeable Boost with the co2 then without-regardless of fan.

Edit... Slaps head. its 3 am and bubs isnt going to be, Sorry For Bad info on this one. Co2 should only be used during light periods (I let mine go as i use pressure release)

Opps, My Bad. Yes as co2 speeds up photosynthesis , U could always try and invest in a LED To cut down on that heat issue of yours. That being said there was a published article on co2 and heat where it stated that With co2 injection plants could withstand higher heats. (Dont rember Where that article was from and what the temps are)

A quick google serch gives me a tiny bit of info for u

Carbon dioxide
Carbon dioxide is a gas that is essential for the light reactions in all plants that carry on photosynthesis. CO2 is absorbed through the leafs stomates and is combined with water and light energy to form glucose (used by the plant as energy) and oxygen (which is released). Therefore supplementing CO2 to the existing amount in the air will speed up photosynthesis and therefore, growth will occur faster. Experimentation has also shown that CO2 can help marijuana tolerate higher temperatures (up to 95 degrees F) with little affect on the rate of photosynthesis.

When he said "inject".. i was thinking.... wtf, he puts a needle into his plant.? lol

this is a clean setup do you have a journal? whats link?

you could get big boy cannons on the walls some day haha. i would buy big flower bulbs before i invest in veg bulbs. we can make that process fast enough easily
