possible hermie problem

Right now where I am it is below freezing, so the nights are cold. So when it's lights out, I have a small heater blowing on my girls to maintain the temp around 68 degrees. The problem is, when the power button is "on" on the heater, there is a little light glowing. (thus having a little light in the grow room during dark period)..Is this definitely going to pose a problem?

Yes Sir , you are correct and those Indicator lights will feck a grow right up .. Many fans have them now as well .. Best bet is to tape it up and double check in the dark to make sure it is not visible at all ... I recently bought a Autopilot Co2 Destop Monitor and the damn thing had to be taped as well in order to avoid the three series of lights it has to indicate Co2 levels .. Sooner or later they will learn to use only green indicator lights and preferably none with grow equipment in general .. Peace PotSnob

my plants are fairly young, only about 2 weeks old. If I make sure it stops now, do you think I'll be okay?

You'll be fine, the little light leak doesn't matter so much when they are that young. Just put some tape over the light like Professor said.

Does the heater have to be in the tent?
Yeah, It is a desk like heater, very small. about 7 inches tall. Needs to be right up on the plants to produce any type of heat as the heat only travels about 6 inches from where the heater spews it.

its not going to cause any issues for you unless their is a flowering plant around...especially on a 2 week old plant that isnt even sexually mature yet...cant throw out pollen on you yet....and even if it popped a male preflower the pollen germs in about 3 days and is no longer viable. only possible thing is im not sure if it carries a higher chance of throwing a pollen sack in flowering if you stress it a bit now....i think your totally fine though imo

4 STAR Thread ! Nice work to those involved .. A good question asked of the community with good answers following and no trolling .. Again I am impressed .. Best of luck to you T.Huxley , Equatorial Sativas and hybrids derived of such will often grow and flower too a growers advantage with 12/12 from the beginning ..PotSnob

ya this happened to a buddy of mine as well...i told the day they were switched over he needs to be in when the light goes off..look for light and be in when the light should come on to make sure it does.....three weeks later he calls me saying he was in when the light went off and "noticed he could still see" ....he learned the hard way that he should have listened to me

A little light like that would probably be fine since the moon still provides light at night in nature. If your that worried though just cover it up with some black tape!
