Do some growers cut their plants this way and if so why? Is it better to use this method on specific strains or is it good for all strains? what are the benefits to doing this?
i wouldnt do that. if you want to trim some popcorns nugs off, do it. look up how to lollipop to do it, but esentially youre trimming the branches away at the lower nodes to get rid of the groups of flowers that dont get as much light so energy is directed to the top of the plant. i would trim the bottem 1/3 of the plant if you want to do this.
the plants branches stagger as it sexually matures, becuase it seperates itselfs into units of flowers.
also, it allows airflow underneath the plants.
All marijuana is a single cola plant barring any injuries that cause defects or if we top or fem them. Many plants raised on 12/12 from seed look like this.

Thats what Sea of Green is. Little veg time and single stalk single cola plants.I googled it and it said it as usually a plant without a veg cycle, thanks
sea of green doesnt always just have one cola they do a lot of lollipoping too, i guess it would be easier to do sog with one cola though so you can fit more plants under the lightSounds like you're referring to the "Sea of Green" method which is a decent way to fit a good amount of plants in a smaller space and produce nothing but top colas. It's been done for awhile and people are now messing more with the SCROG aka Screen of Green so they can keep plant count down.
Go search Sea of Green.
