curious what you r take is on the difference between the two on hydro vs soil... taste, flavor, yield, etc.
My best friend and mentor used to say the best hydro is just as good if not better than the best soil grown. Everyone has their own opinion. This was my first attempt at growing this strain hydroponically. I was cautious not to over feed which resulted in clean, strong aromas of lemon, slight pine, and a sharp smell I can best describe as headie cat urine. When smoked the funk translates to a subtle haze, lemon and apricot flavor that come through nice and pure with this batch of hydro. Enjoyable clean smoke!
I yeild much better with my soil grown JTR. I have been running it this way for a lot longer and got almost twice as much per watt. Admittedly that diffrence in yeild does effect taste..the pine and lemon still come through strong. The strain has a strong sativa whack, and continues to creep in after smoke
... I think this may be the first side by side tga soil/hydro grow of the same clone I've seen. Grow thread?
Definately. However, I confess I'm a R.I.U beginner...I just started watching the Weed Nerd and in one of the first episodes, Sub mentions he's a member here, so I checked it out...More photos threads and posts to follow
Also when you say 'organic' is that super soil, you r own version, organic nutes...? just curious
I'm glad you asked.. I know "organic" was a little ambiguous...I don't use super soil, however the photos I see of everyones gear that uses it look amazing, I may try a batch soon!! The version of soil I use is mostly Sunshine4 with a little Ocean Forest or Marine Cuisine from Foxfarm. I use the 100% Organic moderately light feeding reciepe found on Advanced Nutrients, Non PH Perfect Nutrient Calculator...I add suppliments and bloom boosters from Advanced that aren't organic such as Bud Ignitor, Big Bud, Rhino Skin, Bud Candy, and Bud Factor X.
