Hey guys not part of the crew but a new grower here just started my first grow (indoor) a week ago and am most likely to start a outdoor as well.I Live here in the central valley of cali had a couple questions for the big dogs:
So im from modesto and it gets hotter than hell here you all know that but what i wanna know is when would i be able to start a outdoor grow op? I know you have to wait for the last frost but i guess what im asking is when do you guys start?
Also DO you guys grow in pots or in mother earths soil?
How does the 90F 100F temps treat the plants?
How does the 12/12 of natural sunlight keep it from not starting budding? what im saying is, indoor you change lighting from24/0 to 12/12 and that changes the plants life cycle veg/flower. If its always 14/10 or 13/11 or 12/12 how does the plant vegatate?
Thanks guys looking forward to smokin 1 from the help of you guys!
Lets lee if I can help a little.
You wait for the last frost unless you have a greenhouse and you can use supplemental lighting to keep them from starting to bud or you can slowly introduce them to the elements little by little by little by taking them in and out daily. I usually just toss them out and see what happens but I recommend taking them out in the sun in the AM and move them back inside when it gets dark using your lights to keep them from vegging for an additional 3-4 hours. As the days get longer you can stop bringing them in and they should be acclimated to the outdoors. In ground date for me is the first week of June.
When it comes to in pots or in ground it depends on what you are capable of doing. If you are afraid you might get ripped and don't have the means/privacy then I would go in large pots. No smaller than 15 gallons (for me that's the smallest I want) so that you can move them when you need to. Otherwise drop them into the ground!
I'm not part of the crew but I'm going with 6 plants from clone, so far 2 Hindu Skunks, 1 Granddaddy Purple, and 1 Double Purple.
Welcome! Double Purple should be good. I have a strain with that crossed in that I will be running this summer.
what would you grow for that real fruity taste?
Fruity strains I have had/grown are Pineapple Thai and Mango. Picked them up as clones locally in the Sacramento area but doubt you will be able to find any around here now. Too many dispensaries are gone.
