which end of seed to plant

I'm not sure why this matters but the simple answer is from the pointy side.

One thing about growing is not to make it harder than it needs to be. You will read a lot of stuff about what side to point down or up. The only things you really need to know to germinate is put the seed down about 1/4" to 1/2",whatever medium, with a little heat and water and mother nature will do the rest.

Good luck.

Just like he said, it's not rocket surgery. Over thinking will get you into trouble most times.

Just put the seed in the soil and let it figure out up and down. It can do that. Like a couple people have said, don't make this overly complicated.

What I like to do is put my seed in a seed planting orientation calibrator.
It checks the specific gravity and density and compares that to an online database to tell you the exact angle to plant your seed.

I get results back in 6-8 weeks.

The machine costs $1,527

Yeah well good luck. I bought one of those used and the firmware was not updated to correct for magnetic declination and Y2K, fucked up my entire grow. I was 12.7 degrees off center the entire grow. Not only was the taste of the smoke terrible, the 12.7 degree offset fucked everyone up walking down long hallways.

i stuff mine in cow shit, and grow them like shrooms.
my success rate is not good though. still figuring out this angle bullshit.

forget working out the angle

I cut the seed open, see where the root is, superglue seed back, and plant.

its works everytime to get the angle right!

i just dont have a germ rate atm - working on it
