BarryO is pretty cheap....Next year a 19 year old is going to have a monthly Obama care bill of 90.00 per month if he makes 10.00 per hour.....good luck with that BarryO...I think a 19 year old is going to have a hard time paying the rent...

Well, to be fair, he wants to permanently peg it to inflation so the minimum rises every year...

How cool will that be when the disastrous economic policy of QE infinity drives inflation into the double digits???

Got to hand it to the nobel peace prize winner...

Minimum wage here is $15.96 p/h but our cost of living is alot higher than that of the states.

I don't think you'll see an increase as that'll really rustle the corporations "jimmies" and won't paint "Mr.Change" in a very good light with his corporate masters...

it's actually closer to $80 a month, which is a steal.

i know you're pretty dumb and all, but not many people making $20k want to risk catastrophe over $80 a month.

and it's pretty hard to pay for hundreds of thousands of dollars in chemo treatments on $20k a year.

If you can't afford 90 bucks a month for health insurance, maybe you shouldnt be paying 120 bucks for cable tv.
but the guy who believes what dick morris says claims the kids won't be able to pay the rent.

and he cares about these kids so much that he made not a single peep when their 2% payroll tax cut expired at the behest of boehner.

he is also forgetting the whole part where you may stay on your parents insurance until you're 26.

but don't get in his way. he will ellipses you to death.

I'm assuming you are in CA. I lived in LA in the late 80s early 90s and our POS apartment in hollywood which in Milwaukee where we moved from would of been maybe 350, was over 1,000. Now I couldn't imagine what prices are although I hear POS apartments around LA are about the same now as it was in 1990.

Where I am near WY it is 5.15 hour. CA is still 8 an hour so maybe you are in another country. lol

One of the stupidest reasons for hating obamacare. 90 dollars. Try getting healthcare without a company plan and see how much it costs.

I can understand people saying they would rather make the choice themselves, government should stay out, government is gonna be inefficient... and so on. But 90 dollars?

I bet you would keep paying for your cell phone, cable, booze and cigs before paying child support if you had kids.

I used the cover oregon calculator, I entered 19 years old with a 20,000k income and it came to 89 dollars per month......It sure is a good deal, but at 9.00 p/h it just another bill that is going to be hard to pay........There are all kinds of good deals around, but if you don't have the money the deals don't seem as good......after next christmas the change everybody has been hearing about will really come true.....Or maybe the change is that nickel he just gave to people in oregon to get them up to 9.00 p/h.......

Kids can stay on their parents health insurance until 26 now. Please lets use facts here. Not 19. By the age of 26 you should not be working in a minimum wage job anymore IMO.
SEC. 2714 [42 U.S.C. 300gg–14]. EXTENSION OF DEPENDENT COVERAGE.
‘‘(a) IN GENERAL.—A group health plan and a health insurance issuer offering group or individual health insurance coverage that provides dependent coverage of children shall continue to make such coverage available for an adult child until the child turns 26 years of age. Nothing in this section shall require a health plan or a health insurance issuer described in the preceding sentence to make coverage available for a child of a child receiving dependent coverage. [As revised by section 2301(b) of HCERA]

Agree with argument but what are the real costs? If I pay 90 a month what exactly does the average person get? A $50 copay for meds, a 5,000 deductible for medical care and procedures. What exactly is this 90 a month for, just so one isn't fined and/or jailed for refusing to carry health care insurance?

We need single-payer more then ever, make it simple, cheap and get private insurance companies out of the health care industry period.

number one, you're forgetting that part of the PPACA that let's kids stay on their parents health insurance until they are 26.

second, you said $10/hr originally. if we are talking $9/hr, that puts the monthly tab closer to $70 a month for health insurance.

my cable bill is $67 a month.

go cry now, or masturbate to ellipses.

Again with this shit from you. First certain people should have no right to a fair trial and now people by age 26 shouldn't be working for minimum wage or else. You are beginning to sound like a freshman fascist.

single payer is too socialist for america, look to germany's model instead.

and to answer the first part, the $90 a month protects you against catastrophe. our friend silasraven, who got hit by a fucking train at about that age, is over $900k in medical debt. would like to see him pay that down on $10 an hour.

I don't think the fine for smoking or being overweight is set aside because of a person poor economic condition. Those fines are $4,500 to $5,500 per person.

Edit: Imagine if you smoke and are overweight. Yikes.

If there was a provision in the bill about smoking or being overweight and getting fined. Over 80% of the population would be outraged. Bad move for capital hill.

(only say 80% because 60% of americans are overweight and I don't know numbers on smokers)

Again with this shit from you. I agree with what was said in the other thread, you start a shoot out with cops and your rights pretty much go out the window. What the hell kind of perfect world do you live in? And yes I believe you should have moved up the ladder to making above minimum wage jobs by the time you are 25. How is that fascist to think people should not settle for minimum wage jobs at that age? It's your own fault to sit in a low paying job, I'm not forcing anything onto anyone.

It doesn't matter what minimum wage is. If it goes to 30.00 an hour, milk will cost 18.00 a gal, corperate execs will be making 100's of millions, managers will make 500,000 a year. socials classes will never go away.
Thats kinda the way I see it.
