pound for my next grow?

im currently in the middle of a biodiesel mass grow which are going well theyre on a 20/4 lighting schedule as theyre automatics so i plan to start my next grow before these finish up by vegging them while the biodiesel mass are finishing up flowering.

for my next grow i want to pull a pound of bud i have a 4ft x 4ft x 6ft grow tent with a 600w hps and a 6" inline fan with a carbon filter. i plan on growing bomb seeds medi bomb #1 http://www.bombseeds.nl/medi-bomb-1.html , im thinking of growing 9 plants in 3 gallon containers. so say i give the plants about 3 weeks veg time then flower for the recommended time do you think a pounds possible using 3 gallon containers under the 600w? i know a pound is definitely possible in a 4ft x 4ft tent under a 600w im just curious if its doable with just a 3 week veg in 3 gallon containers?

i guess its not asking too much that only comes to 1.7 ounces per plant, whats your thoughts / advice?

p.s its very important as im growing for hemp oil / rick simpson oil

im new to growing so go easy lol

First things first as you know each strain is very different especially in yelds, so Medibomb is an average yielder at about 450-500g per meters squared pretty standard with most strains next is your pot sixe bigger pots=bigger root systems thus bigger yields so i would have to reccomend 5 gallon pots preferably smart pots or a like product ive heard really good things about them, next is your number of plants i can tell you from experience jamming as many plants into a room isnt going to maximize your yield, its all about each individual plant getting proper lighting and airflow(co2) and nutrients to maximize yields with your 4x4 space i really wouldnt want to go more than 6 and if you really want to push it 8 but what you have to remember is the importance of being able to reach each plant for feedings/inspections/romoval of dead leaves etc and i cant tell you trying to fit 12 plants in a 5x4 was a challenge to say the least and the plants suffered to a degree from lack of c02 for the amount of plants, nutrient problems airflow problems you name it i dealt with it even weak genetics(CH9) producing herms, nothing horribly major but just the constant stressful bullshit us growers deal with as these girls can be sensitive and fragile. anyway i got some really nice medicine out of the setup but i found as the early weaker plants finishing up or being cut early the ones that finished lated began to thrive once they had more light and spacee out of that room i had a plant that yielded 1/2 oz and one that was 3.5 oz so it really proved to me the importance of giving your plants space during flowering, when theyre vegging pack em in like sardines if you want i dont reccomend it but theyd be fine but in flowering they stretch out and up sometimes double or triple the height of when they started flowering. I think with the one 600 you should be fine its just all about making ssure that light reaches every and all of your plants and you have space to rotate them and move them around your room a bit, make sure you invest in some co2 bloom buckets work nice i use them currently theyre like 150$ for a pump and bucket refills are 105& and each buckets good for 3 or 4 months., since your making hemp oil make sure to use 100% organic nutes and start feedlings light and make sure your airflow is good vent fan at least taking hot air out and if u can an intake fan as well, if you do your research and dont overpack your room you can definately grow a pound with 6-8 plants but NO MORE THAN 8 trust me, veg at least 4-5 weeks before switching 12/12.

so many different opinions.. always. I think 9 plants under a light is a really good configuration and 3 weeks veg sounds perfect to me. If you vegged for a couple weeks more then you would want less plants either 4 or 6 per light. But 9 plants per light with 3 weeks veg sounds perfect but you wont know until you see how fast they are growing in your setup.

  • thanks man appreciate the detail you went into...yeah ur right the hemp oil is for someone whos sick so i need to get it right unlike with my previous grow it also obviously means time isnt on my side so i cant be one of these vegging for 6 weeks. so vegging for 4 weeks from seed then going to 12/12 should be fine? also you say 5 gallons but if im right they wont utilize all that space in that time period will they?​

no i didnt use any veg nutes because the soil i use bio terra plus had enough nutes for a good 3 weeks which is about as long as the autos "veg", then when i started to see pistils i started my flowering nutrient bio flores

  • yh i see what ur saying...when i say 3 weeks veg i literally mean 3 weeks from seed, i can prob stretch it to 4 weeks...some people dont count veg until like 1 or 2 weeks after theyve germinated, thats prob correct lol​

If you want to Grow a lb under 600 watts of light in that small tent...... Id veg 2 -4 MONSTERS..... Veg them to like 2 ft tall.... Top the shit outta them, then flip em.... Better be using Advanced, or you got no shot

who are you.. Big mike from AN? I have never heard that one. Advanced or you got no shot... Do you know how many nutrient companies exist now days?

Just my tuppence. I used to do a pound easy under a 600 with 4 plants and about 6 weeks veg (under a seperate cfl/mh combi)
Mind you, that was hydro and scrogged.

p.s. that was in a 4x4 using various nutes. I never found they made much difference. Even used a 1-part once during veg and it still seemed ok.

I go 4 weeks veg from the day the seed pops and by the end of the flowering cycle the roots are circling container, they will fill up almost any container you put them in one of the reasons im looking to switch to smart pots due to the air pruning of the roots as well as allowing more oxygen to reach the root system and they dont end up circling around and getting root bound dut if your going for yield i always say bigger pots go at least with 5 gallon pots
