is gender is predefined?

can a naturally occurring herm produce a male plant? the question is do herms contain the genetics to create both female and male plants? if a herm only contains genetics to create female, and female herms, then is sex predefined?

in other words for there to be a grey area(not predefined geneder) there is only one way to make that possible(besides "males" that are actually herms in disguise because of environmental variables) if hermaphrodites can produce progeny of both sexes.

They probably just make more fems because you only need 1 male to impregnate 1000 females.

My understanding is that If a male flower pollinates a separate female, she will produce seeds which will be both male and female. All cannabis plants have the ability to self pollinate but some have more of a genetic predisposition to "herm"

males are not able to self pollinator with out a rare condition similar to a tripoloidy, they must have an extra chromosome to produce female flowers.

so this leaves all females able to produce male sex organs, but procreate only females. the only way for a female plant to produce male parts with XY pollen would be the same condition as the male, a mutagen can be used to achieve this, or it could naturally be born a true he/she.(extra chromosome)

so with that said i think this pretty much goes to say sex IS predefined.

There are seeds that are 100% female so why not?

this is a rare occurance but it does happen. but there are so many ways to explain this as i stated. al of which still point to predetermined gender.

double negative there.. but yeah i agree. sex is predetermined and everything ive learned about genetics confirms this in my eyes.

My Wonderjacks clone, was created by a Ditch herm mother that pollinated herself.


Picture is of lower buds of Vito^, which was a hybrid ditch cross, that produced my Wonderjacks clone.

Vito was a very low level hermi. The seed it produced, showed males, hermies and normal females.

I've crossed the Wonderjacks clone, with 4th Back cross to the Thunderstruck clone male.

probably a mutant. its rare for a female to produce male seeds, but not as rare as male herms. looks like breeding quality too.

Sex is predefined. What is missing here is that 90% of the outcome is going to be phenological- the environment influences how the plant develops. Lets just put it this way: Plants do wacky shit when they are under stress.

Rare? we got 3 males and 2 females from a Caterac kush bud, that was in a room that had a hermi in it.

Now if you FORCE the female plant to produce pollon, that makes Fem seeds. but when they are just a chick with a dick from the start, they go both ways

no not true, a plant should have one set of chromosomes regardless, meaning a normal hermie tends to be a female, with male organs that have XX chromosome(fem seeds)

the male progeny are not rare, the types of herm was.
