Ok, first time grower, this is the furtherest I've gotten. I'm doing a 24" stealth grow and the "lady" is hitting the lights so I'm going to have to trim. I attached some pics. Does the plant look right? Should I be seeing more sex right now? I mean, we should all be seeing more sex all the time, but I meant the plant. Also, I'm not sure what lights those are. Everything else seems to be ok, 75 - 80 temp, 30 - 40% humidity. Had a little rot at the stem 2 weeks ago, but I had the water level too high up the net pot. Any advice?

IMO, you should have adjusted your lights before taking pictures and posting on here... you dont want the leaves to burn.. as they do not recover and you lose those energy plants...

Those look like 25w cfls, if so they don't get hot enough to burn your plant. You should not let plant stay up against though. You'll be ok topping them a little, but cut as little as possible. The more you chop, the more stress you put on the plant and the more yeild could suffer. Signs of sex will pop up within a week, max 2. Is the stem rot cleared up now?

One tip for height issues - get some pipe cleaners. Then attach a small weight -fishing weights are ideal, but anything will do, even coins. Carefully bend down the top of the plant and then loop the pipe cleaner over the top to keep it down. Judge whether the plant can handle the weight and adjust as and if necessary.

You can of course top a plant at this stage, but it will seriously stress it. You would be surprised how pliable they can be at this stage. Happy to answer any questions on the technique -I have just learnt it myself. :peace:

Thanks... this helps. I think they are (3) 23w soft white. THat's what the box said but it was so orange I thought I was mistaken. And they definitely burned the plant so I'll have to tie down. Thanks for the tips. If I'm shooting for a 15" plant, any suggestions for a veg/flower cycle?

Only you will know when to start flower. Plants usually double or triple in size when you go fro veg to flower. So if its over 8" now, it will be more than 15" when you are done.....

Post a picture of your plant after letting a 13watt cfl sit on it for 5 minutes, then tell the op a cfl wont burn his crop!

If your plants are already at the top of there grow space u should have flipped already.

Rule of thumb - they can tripple in size after flipping...

I did flip, but she was more than halfway up. I'm wondering if maybe starting at 12/12 right off the bat would work best for this space.

Turns out it is a girl!! It got bigger than my box, so I'm going to have to make a ghetto box to finish it off and avoid the smell, but looks like it'll be a decent yield if I can get to harvest!
