There are a number of things that can cause the pistils to die and turn red or brown. Outdoors they die faster because they are exposed to the elements and pests/insects, or they can die if you touch or handle the plants too often. In nature the pistils will curl up and die because they think they have been pollenated.

As someone else mentioned, could be pollinated. Check for signs of hermaphrodism. This would often times happen around week 3-4 of flowering.

Nope..another issue..way way early. Minimum 45 days most longer.. Yes I meant mature buds. Don't spray water on em anymore now. Keep temps good. It should make new pistils.

Its not one specific thing to be guarentee... did bunch of research cause just had this happen.

They are dying. Thats guarentee... but why is cause its sign of being pollinated, its sign of burning(foliar or nute), its a sign of it just dying off and new ones will grow.... those are the 3 answers i gather from ton of google searchs cause i was nervous an spent whole night. They are very vague and no way to know which so just keep heads up to not do thing which can make it happen again... like foliage feeding during late flower while lights on.
