How does my 9 day old girl look?

This is my first grow (kind of). The first try died shortly after sprouting. Totally my fault. She is an Ak-47 Autoflower germinated in my AeroGarden. She is 9 days old. What do you think?

9 days from seed and looking healthy
Id be interested to know the results of that ak..in the a/g . Ive got the aerogarden ultra Im gonna be playing with some auto pinapple xpress and autoxtreme . I think the aerogarden is well suited for the short quick flowering autos. Ive got some nl x skunk1 beans to go outside this spring and will probly take some clones from them to put in the ag later in the fall this year. Ive done a little indoor as well as outdoor always in soil but ive been itching to try my hand at some type of hydro or aero. I have created clones using a spray box under some long tube fls but they always went to soil as soon as they rooted , never finished em out in water. Also Ive never done any autos and was wondering if they can be topped or should I just let em grow out. The Pinapple xpress should only hit about 15 " tall when done give or take.

I think the general consensus from what I've read is not to top autos, I've see some people that lst'd with nice results on certain strains though but the majority of info I got was to just let them grow and use low nutes.

She is at 13 days now. I think I started nutrients too early. I have some brown spots on the older leaves. They look just like some pictures I've seen on here that were Nutr. burn. I just flushed and replaced with strait distilled water. I'm gonna give it a couple of days and see if she improves. My PH is almost always at 5.8 so I'm pretty sure its not that. Anybody know if the spotted leaves will clear up? Or should it just help the new growth?

spotted leaves is probly due to using distilled water , lacking cal/mag. Once the leaves have the spots they wont go away but if you get the problem solved the new growth will be healthy.

He is right on, when using distilled water it is best to have some sort of cal/mag supplement because you will more than likely run into a deficiency since distilled water has no minerals in it at all.

Ok, I agree with you that is a cal/mag deficiency. The 4 oldest leaves are the most effected. There is plenty of new growth with no problem shown yet. I ordered the CaMg+®, Quart but it won't be in until Wednesday. Should I cut off the oldest leaves that are pretty messed up but still plenty alive? I also ordered the Fox farm nutes. I was using the Aerogarden supplied liquid nutes, but they have scarred me off from what I've been reading.

Hey another thing that can cause spotting on the leaves is foiler spray under the lights. Water droplets act like a magnifying glass under the lights causing areas to burn a bit.

I know its not from spraying because I only did that once and I have spots on growth that wasn't there when I did it. I have brown spots on all but the very newest growth.

I started the Fox farm nutes at 1/2 strength yesterday. Today my CaMg+ came in and I gave it a 1/2 teaspoon in the Aerogarden tank and gave it a good mix. I let the pump run for a half hour with my airstone and checked PH at 5.8. If the newest growth gets the spots should I start looking for another problem? Or do I wait and see if additional new growth comes out ok. I guess what I'm asking how long should the nutes take to work if that was indeed the problem? Thanks all for your help.

Half strength might be a little strong, I did the same thing when I had a deficiency upped the nutes then got burn. I'd try 1/4 strength as far as the spots they will not disappear they will slow on the affected area and your new growth should be healthy looking just watch for burn. If she starts showing signs flush again and lower the nutes 375-550ppm has worked for me during veg so far.

PPM is at 660 right now. Should I flush? Or is that going to be close enough till Sunday which is when I was planning to flush and refill anyway.

If she isn't showing any signs of stress or burn then you should be just fine.

She looks really good. No sign of anything bad on the new growth. Only thing is tonight the PH is perfect at 5.8 but the PPM is up to 745. Is this a normal thing?

did you top off with ph'd water? A rising ppm and lowering ph usually means the plant is drinking more water than absorbing nutes. I have found though that my rez ppm rises(while ph rises or stays the same) the more water is used by the plant and when I top the reservoir off the ppms drop.

No I didn't top off. I had it really full the last flush. The PH didn't lower by itself. It had gone up to 6.4 on Thursday night so I added PH down to stabilize. The water just got down to where it needed more this morning. I added a bottled of purified water to hold it over till Sunday. I'll let it run about a half hour and check PH and PPM again. What does it mean when she isn't absorbing nutes as fast as water? How can I fix that?

Hang on there..Mark...Beware of taking advice from people with less experience than yourself
...good intentions aside...do some research...its all here...

Ok so I see a couple issues....Mix the nutes in a gallon jug completely, adjusting PH, then add to the res...never just pour ph up or down into the reservoir...that will burn the plants fast...a rising PPM means something is growing in there other than your plant...usually its root rot, but not always, might be algae...got any light leaks? There is a simple fix for the rot, the algae will die without light, also easy but you have to clean the res after...you probably don't have much roots so...600's is nothing to worry about... your res is so small once it gets going it will drink it way though most issues...

Ph is going to fluctuate some, but the ppms should be stable or go down as the plant feeds...just top off with new feed, keep a jug handy to feed with....if your ph is too low then feed with some that has been adjusted high...If too low do the opposite, feed higher...post a pic or two, help the peeps trying to help you...

Thanks Mr. Natural.
I do mix and PH the nutes in a gallon jug before dumping in the tank. After the initial fill I add the PH up or down as needed right to the tank with an eyedropper just a couple drops at a time and then I gently stir it. I have not been very good about cleaning the tank. I've mostly been siphoning it out and then refilling it. No light leaks that I see. I'll go take some pics.
