Do you measure each gallon dispensed from the gas pump to ensure that it is indeed a gallon? milk? do you check the accuracy of every scale that is used to allot your portion of meat or grain? Do you research through whatever means possible, what is in each good you purchase to ensure there is no lead, no mercury, no arsenic, no undue pesticide in each item? Do you pay someone to check your water for continants? ARe you overly worried each day that the bank you have chosen may simply not pay you the money it has, even if it defaults generaly? Do you pretty much trust that the airplane you fly on has all of its parts intact? or do you insist that you examine the plans and compare those plans with the physical craft you are boarding?

Your life would be a hell of a lot less convenient if you had to do all of these things and more every day and every night rather than trust that some oversight is doing the best it can to ensure that you do NOT have to do these things.
