This is why i always advocate flushing every 2 weeks with clean water then continuing your feeding schedule. To everyone who questions leaving mapito to dry out, may I suggest going onto the greenhouse seeds forums and speaking directly to Franco about mapito, they are very helpful and amongst the very few professionals that would discuss growing techniques relating to the medium. In fact their strain guide videos has all the info you need regarding mapito. I have followed their advice and have had and continue to have great results. I understand keeping on top of the moisture in the medium is a task but over saturation has it's pitfalls.

Anyway each to their own...

Here is an update of my mapito hempy LED grow.. https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/620234-area-51-af-135-pics.html#post8719645

Are these guys doing 2L Hempy? This method is different than others.

edit:
I do agree its not good to over-saturate a plant though. where we diverge is that I want my plants to have constant moisture. a'la DWC

True they are using 65l pots so there is more medium to hold more moisture, however I am using the hempy method and do let the res get depleted before watering again and as you can see in my pics I have no problems. I have noticed that if I allow the res to be depleted the roots will colonize the res space more and so benefit later on, these are just my own observations and my pics show the results. I always recycle the medium for use again and so analyse the roots and what went on.

Not trying to convince anyone just want to relay my methods and experiences..

Differing opinions, methods and experiences are what we need at W.O.H. ... You definitely provide food for thought. Thank you Icon. +REP if they let me.

Yep, it's official!!! I can't express enough on how much I am enjoying my first experience with Hempies!!!! Mad Props to everyone that contributes to this thread and/or their own!!!! Peace

IMG_1610.jpgIMG_1609.jpg Day 12/early 13: Can't tell so much under the T5 lighting but under the HPS there is some definite crystal production starting. I already have a general idea to which will be the heavy weighters. My goal, aside from finding and locking in my pinks is two mothers. One for potency and one for yield, although with the yield there has to be an acceptable potency. If this can't be achieved then more beans will be popped and these mothers will be bred to distingusih if their offspring has any potential. Puff n Pass!!!

cool dude i have my girls on day 13 of flower too. I am also growing some seeds i made and took some clones in order to find a nice momma. Excited to compare my girks to yours as we go along. This one here doesnt smell yet and no trichomes yet but i fucking love her structure I hope she yields nice buds...she should its a Elephant (local variety and one of the most powerful purple plants ive ever seen) crossed witha maui wowie/velvet hammer (another local very heavy producing strain)securedownload-296.jpg She is in a soil core with 100% perlite fill and res.

I want to second that statement. Anyone you takes the time to contribute either with ideas or advice gets my respect for one. We all have different methods and for me that's what makes growing interesting.

tbh .. You guys on W.O.H have been a massive help to me in refining my technique and helping me learn, I'm always trying to be a better grower so long may it continue. ..... (a funny thing, I'm starting to think to myself ' Damn I need to feed my plants, want them looking their best for WoH. ..lol)

I need help with sex...Now that I have your attention...and please don't think everyone knows, cause I don't I'm still new at this..

I put my plants into flower Saturday night, while watering them today I noticed a cluster of seed looking pods, Do the sex traits only show in the stem? or can they be on the branches too? I need to know where to look.

I don't really know either. I believe on the stem first. If its a cluster like you say, then its likely a male. any pics?

those seed looking pods are most likely flower pods, if you think its a good strain i suggest you isolate it, and let it drop pollen. collect the pollen and then mix thoughroughly with 5 parts flour. this will stretch the pollen out so you get more uses out of it. you can then freeze it and it should last approx 10 years. apply pollen with a q-tip or a fan

I did isolate it, I put it in with some of my starters, if it is a male I will keep it isolated and plant outside, male are still good for RSO I hear. No pics as my camera sucks close up

Nizza - Can you please take a look at my post#3407 (pic4). You may be able to see a large pod or two attached to the stem. What are these?

Peace.

Anyone?

This is a Royal Cheese ... as you can see it has had a cal/mag lockout (i think). I've only just started with the 'magne-cal+' but it's probably too late to get it back on track.

Its an ok yielder but tricky when it comes to nutes and has 'foxtail' genes. I've discontinued it but have quite a few to grow-out. Big pain these are, can't wait to get rid.

(4pics - same plant)

hey moe- i had this happen on a blackberry haze plant, i think and your talking about where the fan leafs attach to the stem theres that single fat pistil? i think thats normal for some strains, id have to research into it to give a good answer
