I agree, I like the idea of putting aside the business aspects and putting the best of the best of the best together in order to reach new levels. Judging from the live feed Sub gets along with the DNA crew,how about an La Con x Space Queen, JTR, or Querkle? They used to have an Apollo line also...Collabs are really neat to see in our community!

Hey I need a little help but dont want to start a new thread for a topic asked about all the time. I figure more people look here then my grow thread so ill ask here.

Im using ro water and the ph is around 7-7.2
My dad tells me to lower it so I put it at 6.5
he does his lower at 6.2 (hes been growin over 10 years) but he uses liquid nutrients and im trying to just use water like sub.
Im making my first batch of supersoil tomorrow.

I left some of the water I lowered the ph on sitting for about 24 hours and the ph was back up at 7.2. Is that normal?
It makes me think im changing it for nothing and its changing back in the soil. He says im overthinking it.

What do you guys think am I overthinking it or should I just not be changing the ph?

Any help is extremely appreciated.

I use a 0 ppm filtered water, add 5 ml of CalMag per gal, Then pH to 6.2-6.5. If you raise or lower ph too much, don't try to correct it with the opposing solution or you will see ph swings in your reservoir, and adding unnecessary salts back into your water. Hope that helps!

Agreed... I made this mistake years ago when I was doing DWC

I've been doing "DWC" since 1995 and the reason I've been successful while I've seen others struggle, is that my native water is about 350 ppm out of the tap and has good and predictable buffering ability. RO water is very touchy and difficult even with cal/mag added. My advice is to go DWC if you have the water, if not Subcools method is best. Your soil should be able to buffer water 7.2 and below. The peat lowers the ph in the soil.
My hydro ph is best at 6.0 to 6.4 for my Cindy cross clone. The ph ideally should start of higher and then go a bit lower as the plant matures. Glad that Subs strains are it's relatives because Apollo 13 bx loves it.

You understand that Sub's super soil needs time to cook, right? That Soil you are making tomorrow will need 6 weeks before you should use it. I have never personally made it before, but I have heard that said numerous times.

Yep I know I cant use it for at least 6 weeks.
Im going to just grow in roots till its done. Transplanting from a gallon container to a five gallon and bud the plants small. Then if I have to ill top dress around week 3-4 of flowering. The supersoil should be done by then.

See if Tom Hank's will say that for us. His kids like grass, I know that. Then Subcool could play it at the end of every show. Always thought the "Hey Vern" guy Jim Varney and Sub together talking about weed would be funny as hell.

Just wanted to mention that I wasn't offended by anything Miss Jill said in the Cup video.

Measured the pH of my rain water and it was 5.6 to 5.7! Look up rainwater pH on google. Plants love acid rain.

I used my SS right away outdoors. Burned some tips and still grew some dank! Cant wait to use it again now that it has roots in it. Jesus OG outdoors :)
