Never seen this happen. Houston I have a Problem

System: EBB Flow Hydro
Nutes: Advance 454ml A&B
PH: 5.8
Humidity: 50%
Temp: 77-81
Lights: Two 600 watt
Phase: 4th week of Veg
Air moving nice inside

I was just about to go into my flower phase when I saw this issue. I never seen it I tried to look it up I need expert advice please. Just three out of eight are doing this. I never seen this before . Any input on this issue will help I have two possible ideas. I already flushed with Flora Kleen . Please help thanks. :blsmoke:

What's the tempature of your nutrient solution. The temp you've given is your air tempature I hope.
 
Do you know the temp of the reservoir? Is your nutrient pump in your reservoir? I know you can get into some problems with high res temps locking out nutrients.
not saying thats your problem. But it's a possibility with your warm air temps.
 
Def not enough air circulation in the room, causes lockout. If you have flushed give it a couple of weeks to properly recover. Also get more air circulating ie..keep your exhaust fan on constant and have a osilating fan on 2 times every hour at least. My friend had this problem and that seemed to resolve it.

I can pretty safely say that this is due to high temperatures.
Just like the others above me said, it's most likely heat stress.
Either move your lights up or add more air circulation/CFM in your grow room.
 
You could always pack frozen water-filled milk jugs around the rez tank to drop it 10-15ish degrees and see how they respond shortly after that... and keep cycling the ice jugs until such time as it's a bit more under control. Just a thought =)

No No No..the plants are already under enough stress..this would stress them even more!!

Lowering the res temp so it's appropriate and won't cause more issues with high temp, and lower 02 is a problem? Well holy shit, I guess that the 1000s of people that use chillers to keep res tanks the right temperature are completely wrong.
 
i agree with you but at the same time i think it would shock stress the plant just because its a fast temp change, needs to be slow and easy, but yes chillers are great

I figured it wouldnt be that bad, considering the 77-81 room temp..ice should melt fast with only some going to res tank..wrong assumption on my part? Am still new to hydro, thermodynamics laws work for the most part though.
 
thinking about it, like you said with thermodynamics, like my res, i run a top feed steady drip with a DWC setup, its different then anything you really see, i built it based on both theories of hydro, like dwc the roots hang in the bubbly nutes, in a top feed they drain back to a res where they recycle, in MY system i have my pots inside the res with bubbling aired up nutes with hanging roots plus a top feed pumping nutes over the top on off 15 minutes, off during lights out, my system produces over a pound in 90 days with 2 plants using a 600 HID in my tent.IMAG0381.jpgIMAG0371.jpgIMAG0372.jpgIMAG0333.jpg

A 15 degree drop, that fast, will stress the plants. ALL adjustments should be done gradually whether it's temp, ph, etc.....

But I don't think its an air temp thing at all, 77-81 is fine,... looks more likely to be a ph or toxicity issue as a result from those res temps. I would re-cal your pen for shits n giggles too

fish tank thermometer ($2) will get u a fast res temp reading

Adding in some silica will help deal with the environmental stresses
 
ok all ageed that gradual is good, so how would you cool it gradually, maybe taking one gallon and adding one gallon every hour, basically changing nutes and correcting ph at the same time!!!!

Now thats crazy talk! lol

Personally, I cut to the chase, 20 yrs of trying everything under the sun, DIY adventures, etc has taught me that I'm old,lol go spend the $ and do it right the first time (chiller) But I know those arent an easy expense to bite off.

I've seen DIY's for chillers but most involved taking apart an old a/c,.....not sure how into it you want to get....
